Chick culling is the process of killing newly hatched poultry for which breeders have no use. Due to modern selective breeding, laying hen strains differ from meat production strains. As male birds of the laying strain do not lay eggs and are not suitable for meat production, they are generally killed soon after they hatch.[1] Most of the male chicks are usually killed shortly after being sexed. Methods of culling include cervical dislocation, asphyxiation by carbon dioxide and maceration using a high speed grinder.

If my understanding of halal is correct I will not longer eat meat if it all ends halal. Sooner meat substitutes become more meat esque the better

If it doesn't meet their requirements, as far as I know there's nothing in their religion saying they mist eat meat. they are free to go vegetarian if they choose. there is zero reason for a religious opinion to trump national laws, either current ones or future ones.

Yes but there is also very little chance of your imagined law actually becoming a reality any time soon... telling muslims they should either ditch halal or become vegetarians isn't something any mainstream political party is going to attempt to do in the real world (aside from perhaps UKIP).

If its done properly with well maintained equipment by highly trained slaughtermen the animal dies very quickly (within seconds).

There's also some scientific evidence to suggest that it is more humane than stunning.

Subway removes ham and bacon from nearly 200 stores and offers halal meat only after 'strong demand' from Muslims

Why else are they removing it unless the local community in these areas are demanding it.

Removing bacon because it makes a loss as an ingredient is one thing, removing it though because you think it will please a minority or because a number have said they should in their suggestion box is another.

You should give Quorn a try. I'm no veggie by any stretch of the imagination, but cooking with Quorn as a substitute for crappy quality mince is actually quite pleasant.

Tastes miles better than it used to, things like Quorn steaks are more than edible.

Actually I have been more and more
I like the mini sausages and chicken strips and always have these at lunch break

I have my own quail for eggs too. This doesn't bypass the killing of males but least I know how it's done.

So instead you argue a load of unrelated crap, then when that doesn't work you start frothing gibberish instead.

I don't see what's so difficult here. The Subway menu was in place long before a minority got pandered to and it changed. Subway have served bacon and ham in their subs during that time.

Therefore why should it change?

Note usage of the word should.

It's very relevant. Why aren't you up in arms about American business (like Subway) coming over here and shutting down places like Wimpy if you don't like change? You just don't like change to your own little bubble.

No one has frothed anywhere apart from yourself here, seems you don't like your own advice and your answer is "I was here/there first". Do you think that is relevant?

Was it pandering to minorities or a business decision that was economically beneficial to them? Perhaps subways thought you are a minority within their customer range and the majority + some extra now will use their store? In fact haven't them stores told you to **** off?
