Half-Life 3 Rumour Mill

Just thinking really if HL3 was to come out on regular platforms (and by that I mean non VR) I'm not sure if I would rush out and buy it (potentially not true).

It's been that long right...

As a newcomer to VR I can see it coming out with the rumoured Index 2 as Alyx is "next level" stuff. And the HL's have been "next level" things!

Aaaand just reading what I have said, HL3 is still just a rumour as is the Index 2!


However, HL3 + Index 2 seems to be the only plausible thing to me, a nice one as well. Just hope I'm not at pension age when it happens :p

I would personally only buy it if it did have VR as I've never enjoyed FPS on the desktop, but in VR it can be pretty amazing and just feels so much more realistic. I can't count the amount of times I've half jumped of my skin or turned the air blue with expletives when I turn around to find a zombie / alien / enemy, whether they kill me or not (usually do :)).

I remember being glued to my screen for like 8 hours playing HL2. Exploring every single area and fully emersing myself in this amazing new world. I am not sure VR would do it for me with the short 1-2 hour sessions and motion sickness etc.
 
Yeah actually after playing Alyx I wouldn't want to go back to a pancake half-life either. It was on another level. First game in ages I played for like half a day straight.
