Final Fantasy, Mario, Zelda etc would like to say hello, decades before HL was even an idea. Maybe if it was narrowed down to PC only but then Baldurs Gate and many others would still be in the mix.

Could narrow it down to FPS I guess to grasp at straws, then it would be Doom, Halo, Quake, UT etc etc.

None of them have the same gravity as Half Life though, even though they are big themselves. HL stands firmly on its own as its own entire ecosystem.

i'd be like a pig in poo if it looked like HL2, played like HL2 and had a 16 hours of new story. When i watched the new video recently, and Gabe mentioned that they couldnt think of a new big thing for ep3, i thought it was a cop out... would anyone have cared? i certainly would have been happy with more of the same, continuing with the story. infinitely better than nothing at all.

Gave up hope a while back but at the same time even if it was crap it would make a fortune.

I never really understood who G-Man was. It seems most of the stuff written about him was just fan fiction/theories. Not that I played Half-Life for the story

I've been disappointed by Ep3 / HL3 too many times to get my hopes up. I am curious as to what they'd do with the story after the old leaks though.
