You don't compare it to other fops games though, you compare it to what the community expects, i.e. past Halo games.

Halo 2 was a much better put together package 12 years ago! Less crashing online, gametypes, playlists, matchmaking, chatting in lobbies etc.

same with Street Fighter it's missing everything from previous games, but gameplay is very good.

Hello, Spartans – Bravo here. As many of you know, with Halo 5: Guardians we set out to continually transform the game, adding more content, maps, items, gameplay and overall Halo goodness long after launch. It’s easily the most extensive post-launch content plan for a Halo game ever, with free content releases like The Battle of Shadow and Light, The Cartographer’s Gift, Infinity’s Armory and, available today, Hammer Storm. For those keeping track, that’s 11 new maps, 12 new modes (including Big Team Battle and Forge) and more than 180 new REQ items – all completely free.

But as a famous Spartan once said, “I think we’re just getting started.” We aren’t done, not by a long shot. In fact, we actually want to share a sneak peek at some of the things you’ll be seeing in upcoming content releases. There will be even more new maps, modes, vehicles, weapons, and REQs – an insane plethora of content. In addition, we’ll continue to listen to all of the valuable feedback provided by you, and will use it to help inform the addition of new content, refine the gameplay, and address issues or concerns raised by our incredible community.

Among the vast array of new modes coming to Halo over the next several months is one that our fans have repeatedly asked us to deliver – Firefight. The new mode, called “Warzone Firefight”, will bring PvE to Halo 5: Guardians multiplayer and let players battle together against common foes (and truly show off their custom Spartans to boot!) That’s all we’ll say for now, but trust us, we can’t wait to tell you more about Warzone Firefight in the coming months.

Firefight being added :)

It sounds good said like that however the game was just a shell to start with. If they included more of these 'free updates' at the beginning the community might not be so dead now.

I've really enjoyed Halo 5 and I'm especially glad to see they have finally made improvements to EU matchmaking. It's just unfortunate it came 4 months too late for most people.

Last month we learned about a community member's tragic loss. Adam (aka thecrzedspartan) and his wife Rebecca lost their daughters Trinity and Lena when their lives were claimed by an electrical fire in their family home. As a father, I can only imagine the heartache and pain caused by this loss. In the days following the tragedy, it was inspiring to see the Halo community come together to support Adam and Rebecca in a variety of ways.

In honor of Adam's family and his daughters, Trinity and Lena, we've created the Spartans Never Walk Alone pack. This pack contains the True Light emblem, which is named after the first initial of each of his daughters' names, and is the first animated emblem to come to Halo 5. All players will receive this pack as part of this month's free update.

As well we have included a special feature in our new Arena map, Torque. As players look up and scan the stars above, the names Trinity and Lena will be visible in the night sky. These are but small gestures meant to honor Adam's daughters, ensuring that their memories are always close at hand within the universe he loves.

Where did you learn about this?

Since it was first announced last month that Player vs. Environment (PvE) combat would return to the Halo franchise in the form of Warzone Firefight, fans have been eagerly waiting to get a glimpse of how the all-new experience would look in Halo 5: Guardians. The wait is finally over as the world premiere of Warzone Firefight gameplay made its debut during the Halo World Championship 2016 Finals!

Warzone Firefight is an ambitious new multiplayer experience that takes the initial promise of Halo 5’s Warzone multiplayer – the epic battles, incredible scale and huge maps – and applies that to create the biggest Halo cooperative experience ever in franchise history. In Warzone Firefight, up to eight players will work together to complete five rounds of increasingly difficult, dynamic objectives set against a timer to emerge victorious.

Warzone Firefight will feature more enemies than ever – including a brand new tier of “Mythic” enemy bosses. Thought the Warden Eternal was menacing? You ain’t seen nothing yet. Warzone Firefight features the most on-screen enemies in the history of the franchise, making for frantic and exhilarating matches.

Of course, it wouldn’t be Warzone without the REQ System, and fans will be happy to hear that you’ll have full access to all of your weapons, vehicles, power-ups, armor mods and more in Warzone Firefight. Standard Assault Rifle not doing its job against a swarm of shielded Jackals? Why not deploy your Scourge of Fire Plasma Caster and melt your opponents? Having trouble against an enemy Banshee? Take to the skies in your own Phaeton! In Warzone Firefight, it won’t be enemy players that give you pause – it’ll be the hordes of angry Grunts.

Warzone Firefight is sure to be a fan favorite and we can’t wait to team up and try it out ourselves. With dynamic objectives making each game different, you can play thousands of matches before seeing the same objective combination. The prospect of teaming up with seven other players to take on a plethora of enemies using the REQ System has us all eagerly awaiting the release of Warzone Firefight this summer. Be sure to stay tuned to Halo Waypoint, Xbox Wire and follow the official Halo Twitter for all the latest Halo 5: Guardians Warzone Firefight news.
