Halo Infinite GPU Performance

When you can't address the points made, attack the person. I knew I should have put a trigger warning on that post above, even though I deliberately choose my words very carefully in that post you quoted. :p

I'm glad you buy what's best for you at the time, thanks for sharing that with me. I don't understand what that has to do with what I posted though.

I notice you didn't question anything I posted, so who has an agenda here exactly?

Not going to attack you though, since I don't know you. I'll give you a little background on me though since you seem interested.

I've been using primarily AMD systems for a long time, this is my specialty and area of expertise. It is only since 2017 and the arrival of Ryzen that I switched from Intel to AMD CPUs and moved to an all AMD platform. There will be posts of me using Intel CPUs and running benchmark threads with Intel CPUs way back when if you want to look them up out of interest.

Since I joined OcuK I've spent most of my time here talking with and helping other AMD users in all the various owners threads. Whether it be cooler modification threads, BIOS flashing guides, overclocking guides, benchmark threads, technical support, etc. I've probably been in this section longer than most (but not all) folk here.

It's not about loyalty and if that is truly what you think then you don't know me at all. It's a hobby that I've had for a very long time and still enjoy to this day. Tweaking, tuning, using AMD GPUs and helping other AMD users. I've been doing it here since 2007 till this day.

That hobby was what got me a life changing job in 2014. Might sound cheesy to you, but that's the truth and I would not change one thing about it.

I will provide my feedback on anything AMD/Graphics related, especially if my opinion is asked. Often though what you say gets taken out of context, but that's another discussion altogether.

If I see something and I believe it to be wrong, I'll speak up. Like the post you quoted there and took offence to because I posted it. People don't like that and will see the user posting and cast their aspersions, exactly like you have done.

I try to make sure that If I post something like that, it is correct. And I believe if you look into what I posted, it will be correct. If it's not, let me know which part and I'll change it.

I get some things wrong I am sure, but not on purpose. Anything I post I believe to be true. Opinion is a different thing altogether though. Opinions are like arse holes and all that.

I'm used to being called a fanboy and other names. Heard it in 2007, hearing it now in 2021. It's okay, if it makes people feel better to do this when trying to discuss things, that's on them. I'm sure I have probably thrown that term around in the past too, it's like confetti.

Anyway, now that you mention it and I believe I've said it in other threads here, I've been trying to buy a 3080 FE for ages. I've not had any luck so far unfortunately and have using various Discord groups to try and get one.

I would not want to pay more than RRP for it since I already have a 6900 XT (and a 6800 XT as backup). But I would like to do some performance (benchmark) and vram requirement testing using a 3080, so that is why I have been trying to get one.

I'm always going to be primarily using AMD hardware though. Why change the habit of a lifetime? I don't pretend to have any technical knowledge regarding Nvidia GPUs, I just stick to what I know. :)

I bet you regret asking now, don't you. :p

I do not regret a thing.
As far as me telling you what i have in my pc it was just my way of letting people know that i have no loyalty to any brand unlike you.
My post also was not about any point in particular so why would i answer any of your points? plus even if i did im sure you would just shoot them down as plenty of people on here have seen you do whenever anybody with a nvidia product has tried to say anything positive about thier card on certain games even going as far as you calling them out as lying.
My entire reason for posting was that i lurk on the gpu section a lot and a lot of the content on here interests me especially the benchmark threads as i dont care which brand comes out on top im really just bothered if my own pc is performing as it should. But over my time lurking i have seen many things from you that simply just tick me off. As mentioned i have seen you tell people with nvidia cards that they were lying when they simply said that a amd sponsered game was performing a bit better than it was. Also i was looking forward to the gotg bench thread only to see it wasnt even a fair bench because you deliberatley missed out on rtx options just because they wouldnt make amd look good. If you wanted a personal attack then here we go you now have one because thats another one you always seem to pull out when anybody accuses you of anything, im just tired of you sliming around on here trying to pretend you dont have a agenda when a lot of the longtime members on here know excactly what you are about and who you work for.

I fully expect the others members i usually see jumping to your defense and tbh i really dont care.
Again this isnt about any gpu/points/brands its just about you as a person and you come across as a slimy crafty guy.
I see you for what you are and i know im not the only one.

Sorry everyone for the long post.

This ad from AMD is comical for Halo (4K Ultra UP TO 100FPS) small print will say while in the menu up to 100fps or looking at the sky or floor :cry: up to these days means be happy with 50% less performance than what we pretend to say:-

This is what the small print says at the end that flashes so quick it can't be read.

Another ad from them for farcry 6, good luck reading small print there, BUT they had to make a big deal they beat a stock 3090 by 5fps (reminder AMD sponsored game) but we have to believe that too because somewhere it will say up to..:-

AMD Radeon RX 6900 XT: Looking for the Fastest in Forza Horizon 5?

7fps win by their testing.. with their updated game ready drivers and no Nvidia drivers for the game then.

Review here says otherwise :- https://www.kitguru.net/components/...on-5-pc-performance-benchmark-30-gpus-tested/

AMD are playing dirty as we see, but of course when they do it's fine. Anyways all these companies are just as bad as each other and only after your money even with "little lies added" anything that says "up to" take as it's a lie in marketing speak.

I'm sorry you feel that way, but it seems like you only see things through one lens. That's okay, you clearly have your own agenda.

We'll just agree to disagree since you are making more assertions, when in reality you are just another person sitting behind a keyboard on the internet.

I'll leave it at that. :)

i cant be arsed to do a video on it so here are some pics with performance on this particular mp map which is avg around 100fps but as i said above on some levels this can go down to 85fps avg while others it can go a bit higher than 100fps , this is at 4k ultra on a 3090 with rebar enabled :)

Not GPU related but nice they have added an Atmos soundtrack , wish more games supported it ...

Good performance Jay, seems similar to my videos. Two GPUs highly clocked.

I thought Halo always did well on AMD hardware, there are game franchises out there that have historically always done well on either AMD or Nvidia.

Cheers mate :) i did have a look at your video and can honestly say performance looks just about identical with what its doing fps wise in mp to my 3090 ... ie if i didn't know it was a 6900xt and just was looking at fps in mp id say that's a 3090 which is how is should be with two top tier gpu both being basically indistinguishable performance wise in this game as no RT etc . once they add FSR will have no issue hitting 120FPS at 4k . Will give 1440p a try tomorrow if i have any nails left after the F1 race  as just recently went back to a 1440p 240hz monitor as a second screen and have a new found love for 1440p and high refresh although you certainly notice that drop in quality losing that extra 4.2million pixels but the fps makes up for it i suppose

Yeah your 3090 is always a match for my Toxic, wouldn’t have it any other way. Good luck with the F1.

Think you mentioned something rather worthy of note with no RT, Forza and Halo.

2 Big games available on PC that were recently released did not release with RT (Forza is vista only and not gameplay), we aren't getting any real big titles coming for PC that have RT in it, nothing I can see soon coming out.

This is pretty much how I expected to see graphs and results (and actually how most notable games are actually like).

The only reason you want a 3080 FE is you can post benchies of it getting pumped by the 6900XT :p;):D

It definitely does seem like a certain few feel threatened by that measly 10GB £650 GPU :p ;) :D

Emmm what.... :p

There has been a few ray tracing releases recently enough and a couple of upcoming ones very soon, main ones for me are stalker (iirc april next year, wouldn't be surprised if it gets pushed back though) and dying light 2 in Feb.

Most recent RT titles being guardians of the galaxy, icarus, FC 6, deathloop and bright memory. A couple others like BF 2042 + sword and fairy 7 but one is a very niche kind of game (which is a shame as it is pretty full on with the RT effects) and the other only has RT AO, which isn't worth it for MP.

DF went into a decent bit of detail about halos lighting, SSR etc. and how they aren't surprised by lack of RT since the game was in development for 6 years. Halo is probably one of the better games I have seen so far for its material finish/appearance though i.e. different types of metal look great and the reflections look pretty good. Lighting and shadows + AO are just ok though, hopefully they'll add a good amount of RT effects to the game but being AMD sponsored, don't be expecting much other than just low res. reflections and "maybe" shadows....

Which part of my post of big titles did you miss?

The only notable title in your list that is from a big franchise/game is BF 2042 and deathloop.

I never said no RT titles are being release, I said big titles being released.

AA and small development games do not carry or push new technologies going forward, each game to their own but my statement stands.

I would classify FC 6, guardians of the galaxy as being "big" too, ubi and marvel/eidos.... Icarus is pretty big too, given it's by dayz creator.

I know you did, hence why I only listed stalker 2 and dying light 2 as upcoming RT titles, again, they are "big" titles.

Another recent AAA game that doesn't have RT is COD Vanguard which i found was a bit weird considering the previous 2 cod games had it included with coldwar going heavy on RT ... maybe they got the stats back from cold war and realized 95% of people will have it off in a competitive FPS game and decided to give it a miss this time  I do love RT and will always have it on when possible in single player games where i want maximum visual fidelity but in competitive fps games where framerate is king then it is off . It would be nice if they add it to the upcoming Final Fantasy 7 Remake on PC as would definitely help out in that game and would improve the visuals of the whole game imo. when done properly RT is stunning just bloody expensive
