Halo Infinite GPU Performance

"If I enable ReBAR and test again we get 112 fps for the 6900 XT and 103 fps for the RTX 3090. So that's what's going on. I have a following video that address this and will be live later today." :D

At 1080p where the 3090 is known to suffer ... 4K ultra is what is needed for these cards this powerful not a resolution that is 1/4 the pixels on a card that is designed for 4K and up. Clickbait drama created by HUB again.

RX580 1080p result seems really low to me at 16fps, less than half the RTX2060?

No one has been able to explain that one to me, why is a Xbox one X GPU performing worse than a 2013 ATI 7750 GPU.

Has AMD/Microsoft put some planned obsolescence for old GPUs?

Damn that's some difference!!
I hate to say I called it, but well, I called it.

Computerbase, pchameshardware and sweclockers are the go to sites for graphics cards and benchmark reviews. The Germans are the best, as always. Way ahead of the rest at the moment.

Until HUB and TPU stop disabling Smart Access Memory, their results will always be inaccurate.

TPU are not even using a 5950X, they should be using that and the top of the range Intel CPU so an i9 -12900K, both with SAM/Rebar enabled. If ReBar hurts Nvidia, disable it for their GPUs. Never disable it for AMD, since it never hurts performance and gains of 10-20% are now common place.

I see HUB getting called out for this on Twitter now, so I hope they take note and change their methodology going forward, since I generally like watching their videos. TPU I think are a long way off unfortunately.

Really ****** optimised game but in Microsoft's defense Forza 5 seemed to run fine in older cards.
Halo doesn't even seem that great visually honestly when there is games out there like Red dead 2 (specially considering this one runs fine on any older hardware), people here will be arguing and creating drama from the 5/10 FPS difference between AMD/Nvidia cards when in reality this game runs quite poorly and you can tell barely has any optimization.

I just don't like the game, something about it feels off to me. But that may just been the Halo feel as never played it before.

It's now uninstalled and back to Vanguard for me.

You are wiser than me, I should had bought Vanguard instead, I bought BF 2042, one of the worse MP FPS I played in recent years. Ended up going back to battlefield V.

I’ve got a key for BF2042 but have yet to install it. This despite it massively favouring RDNA2 according to folks I know using both 6900XTs and 3090s in their systems, I’m not interested since it is too buggy. Not even going to put up a YouTube video tbh.

Vanguard might be basic in comparison to a game like BF with its huge impressive maps, but unlike BF2042 Vanguard performs well, gameplay is fast and fun, is bug free and runs at over 120FPS at 4K max settings. What more can you want from a competitive shooter?

Steve is doubling down. 'We are not going to test with SAM/ReBar enabled.'

That's unfortunate but not entirely unexpected. It's easier to double down rather than admit you got it wrong.

It means I can't reliably compare performance data using HUB, since I know that all of their RDNA numbers are wrong and below what they should be.

At least we have Computerbase and PcGameshardware who test using these standard features and they both do an excellent job, so its not the end of the world.

My comment to that video where simply "conclusion use the settings that work best for your setup weather you're green or red"

To me its a lot like when these folk test games at 1080p to bench the CPU performance. The thing is these high end devices are meant to be playing 2k/4k resolutions so your better off testing at the resolutions your going to be playing at. Seems like the SAM/Rebar logic is following the same weird testing, I mean it the latest features, clinging on to 1080p would only make sense at the dGPUs targeted for that like the 6600XT/3060 or below.

a lot of top end gamers play at 1080p and 144hz or more, which also needs a bleeding edge card

Yes, that’s what any sane person would do. No one is going to leave that kind of free performance disabled so it makes no sense.

They make a fair point though that there are plenty of other places you can go to for that accurate performance data. Just seems an odd decision.

Hopefully they reflect and change their mind at some point.

Kind of sounds like someone's else's logic on here for not enabling RT and also because it wasn't the "default" setting for said preset/config ;) :p

Defo a poor show from HU though.

I just skimmed the video but did he say, he only enabled re-bar via the MB bios and not the profile inspector? If so, then rebar won't be enabled if he is using the gamepass version.

https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/rdy05d/halo_infinite_correct_nvidia_profile_bug_pc_xbox/

I'll enable it on my side here to see if it affects perf.
