Brain damaged? bit harsh somewhat.

So Todt got MS to go slow in qual so Massa could beat Alonso, that makes a lot of sense, what race was this? So you expect Massa to outqualify Lewis and Vettel as a strategic decision to show how Alonso is not selfish? oh my giddy aunt.

Alonso is all hype? seriously LOL, he retired your boy once already.

I doubt they would replace him with someone that isn't racing in F1 at the moment and if they did it would be a backed GP2 driver.

Are you kidding? If Alguersuari does have a drive for 2013, then every single Pirelli lead test driver has returned to F1. The tyres change every year; having a driver with first hand experience of how they work right from the start of the season is massive.

Hmm. I'm not sure having Pirelli tyre experience alone would put him above better drivers with more money in terms of a race seat.

Employ him as a 3rd driver to tap into that knowledge by all means, but perhaps not a race seat.

how much does pirelli tyre experience benefit the team? the driver wont be able to give them any real data its not like hes going to be bringing spreadsheets , graphs , telemetry etc to the team.
he wont be able to tell them how load or temperature will effect the tyres

teams with the actual tyres over a race weekend with actual data gathered by themselves are still saying they understand the car but not the tyres.

so i honestly dont see the value in hiring someone just because they were a pirelli test driver

Stories that mclaren are willing to match the Mercedes deal.

They would be making a is take to split I think.

These last few races Hamilton has really come on well and is focused on racing.

Mclaren are on top and he nows he can win all the remaining races.

i love how all the secretive contract information is allegedly being leaking to journalises...

i would take any numbers were a massive dose of salt a lot of its probably made up bs

true and after all the Pirelli test car is 2 years old so the driver cant really bring anything useful to a team

You should prob cut down on your salt intake, its not good for you, what with all the "Schumacher will be singing for another year, possibly 2" rumours you have been carrying around.

McLaren would be insane to let him go, but like many have said, Hamilton would be insane to leave based on his options.

not winning the title, 12mil a year and one personal sponsorship deal, or not winning a title and 12-15mil a year but multiple personal sponsorship deals that could probably double the total amount he could make while at Mclaren?

How many titles have Mclaren won in the past decade, how many have Mercedes(by any other name) won, how many have Red Bull and Ferrari won.

Is Mclaren really a better option because today and the past 4 races he's had the best car on the grid but a car/team combination that over the course of the season isn't strong enough to win the title.... again?

The fact is that at this second in time it doesn't look like he'll win the title this year and there is nothing to suggest Mclaren will be stronger(or worse) next year. Their current history isn't very good, their history of monumental screw ups of winning positions is probably the worst of any top team while Hamilton has been there. Mercedes might have the best car next year, it could be Mclown, it could be Ferrari, RBR, Lotus, would you really turn down twice the money, silly money, because Mclaren might be the best car next year? Second is almost pointless, no one gives a crap about anything but winning, there is nothing to suggest Mclaren will win next year.

He'd look equally stupid staying at Mclaren and making half the money and Merc beating Mclaren next year as going to Mercedes and Mclaren beating Merc next year... either way he'd have a crapload more money at Merc.

There is no right choice, its almost complete luck over which car will be better next year, there isn't any luck in chosing the best contract.

Anyone know where Hamilton is due to be tomorrow? That would tell us.

If he's at McLaren, then he's signed for them. If he's anywhere else, he's leaving
