To be fair, this forum bashed Jenson for turning his back on Williams. Then again for leaving brawn so it's not like we get huge career changes right all the time ;)

dont forget the bashing he got for joining Hamilton's team :D

even without Telmex money I was surprised journos were even mentioning "less budget because McLaren now have to pay for engines" just from the different levels of salary between Perez and LH , McLaren would be onto a bigger budget

Perez deserves the seat anyway from his performances - not surprised it was so easy for McLaren if that kind of money is coming with Perez as well

Old "article". It's not that relevant any longer.

It may well become relevant in 2014 however, I think McLaren still plan on racing their own engine (and not just a rebadged Merc/Ilmore like they have in the past....well ok I think even then it was called Merc although widely known they had Ilmore working on it in some regard

How was that wrong? So far it's been pretty much spot on?

what planet do you live on if you think JB has been LH's whipping boy - over the three years its been pretty even (even on total points scored)

He's beating MSC because MSC is past it. HAM has comprehensively beaten ROS in lower Formula's, driving the same car.

Thats history, different drivers develop at different rates - just because Rosberg was beaten (easily or not) at different levels, has no reflection at all on what might or might not happen in F1 from next season

I guess Hamilton has sold out his title chances for the extra money. Guess he wants a bigger nest egg for retirement and sees that as more important than a title.

He will have to keep more quiet this time around when things don't go right for him, he made his choice and took the money, can't complain when he wins nothing from it.

Hopefully the Massa contract is not signed by Ferrari yet and they can have Michael for 2013.

From an on track performance point of view why would they do that?

Sponsorship money may help (not that Ferrari struggle in this regard), given how slow he as been vs Rosberg , its only going to look that much worse vs Alonso

I think now LH will be gone, the whole team will get behind JB and he has every chance of becoming a champion next year with there new car built around his driving style.

MS has simply not been slow against Nico though? Or do you just look at points and conclude who is fastest?

All it's going to do in the immediate term is secure Fred or Seb another WDC in 2013.

Either one of them could be starting 2014 with four, or they could both be on three WDC titles while Hamilton still has one.

It will be very interesting if Ham does the improbable and wins the WDC this year (assuming he does his best in the next six races).
