Hannspree HG324QJB 32" 1440p 144hz Adaptive Sync

How does everyone set to 144Hz and know its running that in games. I can see in the display settings its 32bit 144hz but what about games

Because in games you actually see options like: [2560x1440 120Hz] or [2560x1440 140Hz].

I know that BFV and AC:Odyssey have these options for sure.

By the way.... I bought this monitor for overclockers.co.uk too! :)

Generally happy with my purchase, only a few things to mention:

I do notice significant flickering at 1440p 144Hz..thinking of getting a better DP cable but not sure where to look, can anyone point me to a trusted source for a certified one? Hate shopping for these kinds of things off ebay/amazon (so many horror stories).

At the moment I'm running 1440p 120Hz most games.

There are also a few dead/stuck pixels, which are expected for a screen with 3,686,400 of them. :D

Only this one pixel is about 2 inches to the right and 1 inch down, which kinda distracts me from my (center-vision/center-viewing)..but hey..for the price, good monitor and I believe still within manufacturing tolerances.

Hoping someone can help with the Cable situation...

As for Freesync, she's a beaut' !

I just used a good cable from amazon and run 144hz without any flicker

Do you want a link ?

The new nvidia driver for adaptive sync works a charm for me, no complaints there.

I will say that the DP cable provided in the monitor is a bit crap though, as Im get artefacts on it occasionally that I dont get through HDMI.

Hi just signed up as I've bought this monitor today.
Currently using italian icc and settings to get me up and running quickly.
Any other tips low input lag setting etc
Also with the new nvidia driver I presume we leave adaptive sync turned on in the monitor itself alongside enable in nvidia control panel.

Cheers

I am no expert but here's what I did with mine.

Only had mine a couple of weeks..

First thing I did was go through every single menu and submenu on the monitor itself (buttons on the monitor), just to familiarise yourself with navigating through it.

Next if you're using the DisplayPort cable that came with it, you may experience some flickering when on 144hz...I temporarily reduced this to 120hz until I get a new DP cable in.

Low Input Lag [On] for me.

Using the buttons on the monitor, there is a submenu for refresh rate..

View Mode - Standard - Response time:

Then you have a choice of 3:
Standard
Advanced (I chose this one until I get my new DP Cable)
Ultra Fast (I will be choosing this one once my new DP cable arrives).

Finally, do some simple tests found online to test the monitor for Dead/Stuck pixels.

If you find a few..this is normal..every monitor will have a few Dead/Stuck pixels.
Again, there are online tests you can do to try to get a Stuck pixel, unstuck.

If it doesn't work, it's most likely a dead pixel...If you have more than..like..10-25-20 dead pixels, then contact the vendor directly..see what they can do.

Otherwise, just enjoy the gorgeous 1440p, 144hz beauty of a monitor this is, for the price!

Cheers did pretty much as you suggested already just wasn't too sure about low input lag and response time, have a decent dp cable so changed it to ultra fast.
Did a pixel test and can only see one which is fair do's for the size cant tell in normal use.

And yep its a beast :)

Any thoughts about gsync compatibility enabled?

I'm pretty certain it's flickering for me in FreeGSync / mode @ both 120 and 140Hz, but I'm still using the DP cable that came with the monitor. It's not crazy flickering, just a subtle raising and lowering of brightness. Have you received your replacement yet?

I don't really have a before comparison as I got the monitor after the new driver and freesync was enabled from the get go (I'll give it a go disabled later)
Have a decent cable and not noticed any tearing paired with 1080ti, I did think I saw the brightness go up once or twice but this was only in BFV menu and not noticed during frantic gameplay

The DP cable that came did not work for me. Since the new driver and gsync enabled the issue of moving/resizing windows is gone or at least is beter, but I'm not sure about it as is something that happen time to time. The raising/lowering brightness I also noticed when waiting to connect to a server, but nothing during the game play.

Might be a thing of my mind, placebo effect, but I can sight enemies way faster than before in bf1/5 and pubg seems more smooth. Playing now looks more comfortable to my eyes than before. I might be getting crazy, or gsync is really making a difference.

And no, the RMA was not even approved yet. =/

I'm not convinced by FreeGSync at the moment with the flickering. It's too noticeable for me during gameplay and I think it'll become noticeable for everyone eventually, not just on menu screens.

I am a little confused with adaptive g-sync I am not quite sure that it works. bf4 looks great but it had no issues with out adaptive sync, elite dangerous has issues when you move the camera look left and right fast.
I am not sure if this is called tearing or ghosting, but if you like to reproduce it and help me out with the terminology look at the canopy, left an right in has two large like braches ( 0 ) xa! thing of the o as the target (my English are not so good so I don't know how it is called) quickly move camera left and wright and you can easy see triple braces on left and right..

If I understand you correctly, it would appear that you have ghosting.

Do you have the monitor of this subforum? (Hannspree HG324QJB 32" 1440p 144hz Adaptive Sync) or some other monitor? Because only a few were 'certified' by Nvidia for now...this one wasn't..yet.
Which GPu have you got, as well, for reference.

I do have Hannspree HG324QJB 32" 1440p 144hz Adaptive Sync. I am running with a gtx1080ti

Well AFAIK this monitor is not one of their 'GSync Compatible' models, however if it appears to work fine in BF4 then maybe a bit more tweaking is required in Elite Dangerous.

https://www.displayport.org/cables/how-to-choose-a-displayport-cable-and-not-get-a-bad-one/

Despite what you may read, there is no such thing as a DisplayPort 1.1 cable and DisplayPort 1.2 cable. A standard DisplayPort cable, including the so-call DisplayPort 1.1 cables, will work for any DisplayPort configuration including the new capabilities enabled by DisplayPort 1.2, including 4K and multi-stream capabilities. All standard DisplayPort cables support RBR, HBR (High Bit Rate), and HBR2 (High Bit Rate 2), which can support 4K at 60Hz, or up to four 1080p displays using multi-stream.

While retailers may try to sell you a more expensive cable touting it will provide a better picture quality, we are here to debunk that myth. Contrary to what you may think, the more expensive cable will not give you a better picture quality. DisplayPort uses packetized data, similar to USB and Ethernet, to send digital display and audio data, therefore you either get all of the data or you don’t. Unlike other older video interfaces, you don’t get a “better” picture or other incremental improvements with a more expensive cable. But of course a poor quality cable could lead to data errors and obvious corruption of the video or audio data, but you can avoid such cables, as explained further below.

I'm currently testing an alternative DP cable to the one supplied in the box. The flicker / pulsing / blanking with FreeGSync enabled is still present, as are reverse ghosting artifacts when Ultra Fast Response time is enabled on the monitor; so it looks like these issues are most likely inherent to the monitor. I need more time to test whether the stuttering at 144Hz is still occurring when dragging windows or watching video in Windows with this new cable.
