Harmless 39 year old alcoholic woman tortured and beaten to death by girls aged 13 and 14.

Reading that makes my blood boil.

This namby pamby society we live in is ridiculous. You aren't allowed to smack a child anymore to discipline them and this is the reason why young people are being more and more disrespectful and do horrific things like this because they don't learn or understand consequences.

I was smacked a fair few times as a child and it didn't do me any harm, I am respectful and I have good manners.

So by your logic, there should have been no teenage/child murderers in the 1950/60s when giving your kids the belt was the norm, right?

Indeed, some people here don't have a clue!
Robert Thompson was physically abused as a child and how well did that turn out?
Statistics and studies CLEARLY show that children who are bought up in violent environments are FAR more likely to become anti-social, aggressive and violent, how'd have thought!!
We've only had a few million years of evolution to show we are a product of our environment!

As for people advocating the hanging of messed up troubled children
On many levels you're sicker than these kids are!!!

Doesn't make any difference though in the damage, pain and suffering the actions of some people cause to others and society. There's certainly more that should be done to protect the young by tackling abusive families/parents etc but those things provide the background and history to why person X committed crime Y and aren't really an excuse.

And I don't think it's fair to say that those who would condone hanging are sicker because I doubt they would derive any pleasure from it for one.

not that i want to see it. but how does snapchap work? is that out for people to watch

You take a picture snd can write a few words/draw on it. And then send it to people.

So rather than chating via text its pretty much all pictures.

Most annoying app on earth unless you like getting constsntly soammed by duck face poses

Its like text/whatsapps **** dead end of evolution.

I have some friends who use it instead of whatsapp.

I do not wantntonhave to downlaod a blank picture of you covering the camera wkth 6 words typed and 2 more crudly drawn underneath everytime they want to say something.

Just text you ****ing ********

If you think it was a lack of smacking them that caused them to beat someone to death, just wow!

I 100% think that. For whatever reason their parent or parents had to give them up into care and they grew up not being the center of attention in a place where staff would be frightened of disciplining children under fear of claims of abuse and the kids grew up thinking the world owed them something and they never learned discipline.

Christ look at kids who actually have families thesedays, a lot of teenagers act like scum and would quite happily assault you for no reason whatosever on the streets.

I grew up with abusive parents (towards each other) so you can't blame the upbringing other than the fact that it's illegal to smack children now so all you can do is go "NO, that is bad" and they can laugh and stick two fingers up at you.

Have they been convicted yet? Innocent until proven guilty. This place is like brass eye sometimes.

Derp.

Bentley is a bad example to use, he didn't even hold the gun and was prosecuted as an accessory to murder because he said 'let them have it', which could have meant shoot them, or give them the gun.

But this simply isn't true is it....

My parents never smacked and neither did my wife's family and we all managed to turn out just fine. Living in a loving household which enforces strong morals, clear boundaries and respect is all you need. I wouldn't dare cross my mum and dad.

Look into these girls backgrounds and you will see everything you need to know about creating feral children.

I thought something like that in part of this reported story, the victim supposedly said

"Please don't, stop, I'm scared."

Now that first comma is all important....else it's "Please don't stop, I'm scared." :p

Eats, shoots and leaves...

The logic is, unfortunately, this behaviour is well within the scope of Human behavioural traits, always has been and always will be.

While I would normally jump on the 'something needs to be done in this country' bandwagon, this thread has made me look at things a little different, I probably did things at that age that if I sat down and thought about now (at 45) would deeply regret and hopefully when they reach an older more thoughtful stage of there life it will be something that haunts them.
I've never lived in care so have no idea what it's like growing up either not knowing your parents, not feeling wanted and loved, parents choosing alcohol or drugs over me so it's hard to judge.
Put them in a children's centre and give them time and education (not TV and consoles) and try and change them into better human beings, if after 10 years there's no change or regret then give them the rope
