Harry and Meghan to resign

I think all this show will do will cement your already formed opinion of them.

I liked them in the first instance so seeing this just reaffirms why I do. I expect if you didn't like them then this will just be more of the same for you

Harry's heritage is still suspect given the ginger hair - he is lucky he doesn't live in Westeros..

A reasonable argument that conveniently forgets that Harry doesn't have much of a choice in the matter of his inherent privilege as a royal whose only real chance at income comes from exploiting the same press that hounded him out in the first place. He's hardly about to start flipping burgers as that's not going to stop the frothers is it? The moment he has any difficulty at all that the average millions of plebs in this country deal with every other day the press will be all over it for days using it as proof that he deserved it.

Sure as one of those plebs it still screams like he's not worthy of empathy for having such an easy life in comparison, but can you imagine having your dead mother be front page material in rags for much of your formative years? There are degrees of suffering someone can sustain but even the most privileged can break.

I'm don't really care about either side to be honest but it does seem like while they may have estranged themselves from the rest of the royals they still have kept the heightened self importance.

LOL doubt it, their income/lifestyle depends on this stuff. There is a book coming out, there's the podcast, Megan may want to get back into acting (remember Harry pitching to the Disney CEO - see below)... there is even the possibility she fancies politics, former actors have of course gone on to become state governors and even president there was Regan + the last guy was sort of an actor/reality show host/failed businessman who got wealthy from being lucky with his long real estate positions.


They're very much going to stay in the public eye and were actively looked for various deals to fund themsevles, they want to be self sufficient A-listers.

They don't really have much of a choice though do they? Certainly if they wish to afford security they must earn a rather high income to do so as he's obviously a blackmail/kidnapping risk.

I guess they could technically just live the middle of the woods in Montana... but that's not happening.

He got 10 million from his great gran, 14 million split with his brother from his Mum (those sums have had several years to be invested + possibly additional investments while he's had his low 7-figure annual allowance from his Dad). They could live in a 7 figure house in some gated, guarded community in California, never have to work again and still have an improvement on Megan's previous TV actress lifestyle.

Sure they'd not necessarily have a 24/7 private security team other than their HOA security company belonging to their gated community, they could certainly have ad hoc security when needed for some events or attendance at some venue etc. I suspect they could at least still hire a driver/bodyguard part-time for trips to and from school for the kids etc.. If they'd stayed out of the public eye then they'd just be a couple of many celebs in LA/California.

They've instead gone for the 8-figure mansion and an A-lister lifestyle + plenty of publicity/keeping themselves in the papers/in the public eye etc.. attendance at public events etc..

its certainly do-able. Look at Edward and Anne. Both fairly low key, seem to be quite chilled and getting on with their lives.

These two plums have made their bed so need to sleep in it. Shame the last episode wasn't a cliff-hanger with a DNA test, results in S2.

Perhaps, unlikely the likes of the Mail would let them live peacefully.

Funnily enough my partner laps all this royal stuff up and said she has always been sympathetic towards Harry & Meghan but after finishing the series last night she said it's actually changed her mind somewhat and it's put her off them.

I can't tell if you are serious. Their "job" now is to profit off sticking the knife into their family. Without that they quite literally have 0 marketability. They will flog this horse for as long as they can. Its all just really sad how they have decided to try and make as much money as they can by selling their privacy and that of their family. How anyone can think that what they are doing is OK is beyond me. Its family for Christs sake.
