Harry and Meghan to resign

If this is true how can Harold keep working for Netflix…

For money, of course.

I'm not shocked by an actor playing dead for a role. It's hardly unusual work for an actor.

It’s shocking that Netflix are trying to monetise the gory side of princess Di’s death which they had always said would be handled sensitively - will be very awkward for Harold but yes the money will win..

The odd thing is people are saying he wanted her to be paraded naked etc but ignored the "say shame" part of the article. They were trying to twist something from 5% borderline to 900% over the line.
It's all the mob can do. Don't bother with accuracy, just make sure it's twisted and turned into something it isn't.

Not bothering with accuracy? Hold on a minute, does that sound like a certain poster we know? A man that loves to call people -ists on a regular basis?

so which part do you find funny

the stripping of women naked in public ?

or maybe it then making them walk naked, for the public to hurl abuse at them ?

Humour is subjective though, it can be funny to 10% of the population and still be a joke. Asking me which part I find funny is missing the point, it was obviously not to be taken literally because Jeremy Clarkson doesn't actually want women to be flogged in the streets.

He also said like 10 years ago that striking council workers should be shot, I'm tipping this was also a joke given he isn't a supporter of public executions presumably.

Since none of us know him, I'd be prepared to give him the benefit of the doubt...if his own daughter hadn't condemned the comment.

So you think his daughter thinks he meant it literally? Is that what you took from her condemning the article? I think everyone is living in clown world. I don't think he should've written the article, it was fine he apologised, but he didn't actually mean what he wrote.

I'm sure Netflix are sensitive to the amount of views and publicity they get and I'm sure that's what they meant when they said it would be handled sensitively.

maybe Harry&Meghan could be invited onto coronation street as a first appearance, King&Cons were a success on Eastenders

yes Harry's hypocritical about Netflix portrayal of Di's death ... doesn't stop the palace reinforcing their feedback on the show to point out Harry's inconsistency.

Its a bit like how chopping some ones head off in a TV isnt the same thing.
GOT normalising misogyny for adolescents ?
courtesy of Meghan's vitriol, as Clarkson commented, the adolescents (especially Americans) viewing M&H show, and the crown, think that the palace & UK is a racist enclave - Netflix is complicit,
well their record with the publicity on french Cuties was symptomatic

“You will no doubt know how violence against women and girls has surged across Britain in recent years. We must do better. Enough is enough. We cannot allow this type of behaviour to go unchecked any longer.

“We welcome The Sun’s retraction of the article, we now demand action is taken against Mr Clarkson and an unreserved apology is issued to Ms Markle immediately.

“We further demand definitive action is taken to ensure no article like this is ever published again.”

The letter was signed by 64 MPs.
and did those MP's complain about GOT, or, just indignant about current incident,
are they backing the (watered down) internet harms bill too; Meghans wounds are trivial versus recent publicized death.

I thought Clarkson’s statements were odious - much is being made of the Game of Thrones sentence but it’s the preceding remarks that gives it an ominous edge:

"Meghan, though, is a different story. I hate her. Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West. I hate her on a cellular level."

That’s pretty full on.

I hate her.

Not like I hate Nicola Sturgeon or Rose West.

I hate her on a cellular level.

The reinforcement of the ‘hatred’, in a manner that makes it seem she is more worthy of hate than Rose West (!), on a cellular level (?!) totally outweighs the scope of humour possible from such commentary. The lack of regard for how that could be perceived is careless.

If he had dropped those last two sentences, then the following Game of Thrones reference wouldn’t read as aggressively.

The reinforcement of the ‘hatred’, in a manner that makes it seem she is more worthy of hate than Rose West (!), on a cellular level (?!) almost sounds deranged - totally outweighing the scope of humour possible from such commentary. The lack of regard for how that could be perceived is careless.
It's satire get used to it, yes americans don't understand it, older generations in UK do, but that that gene seems to be diminishing,
if you know the modicum of Clarkson's behaviour even before he took top gear into a lads mag, it is consistent with his character

e: from what I read about GOT that has no such claim, it was just Yank(yes that's racist) OTT violence - would have probably been a video nasty in the day, we don't want to import that.
