the latter part of that, is he clueless? You can't bribe an official to get out. Your agent needs to ring up and say that he's willing to pay the fine, just let him know what it is. Wow, he's never had to cross a dodgy border in the back of beyond has he? They want a bribe but they can't be seen to ask for it, and they take it as an insult if you suggest they would, even a corrupt man doesn't like to think of himself as such; but if it's a matter of offering to pay the required fines/fees? Well yes I suppose there is that option... and what do you know here's your stamped passport back and over you go.

Yes mate. I heard that he mounted the pavement on purpose.

yeah it could be being exaggerated by a copper who was happy for a backhander but his boss walked in and now they want to save face etc. I wonder if either side has CCTV or phone footage. If they have that and it shows him taking a swing, well...

also never underestimate the effects of alcohol and adrenaline especially if they'd already been in a rut with another group just before.

You cant exagerate trying to bribe someone though.

Given where it was im sure there will be CCTV footage.
