Hayfever - Thread

Every hayfever sufferer just having a wonderful life I take it ?

Not here lol

These Fex tablets did start working a bit, but they really only offer 4-7hours, the cetirizine and loratadine tablets I found are still 10x more cheaper, easier to get and I find last longer 6-9 or 12 hours.

I have ordered another fresh batch of benadryl 24 tablets (acrivastine) from chemistdirect which is on special offer £5.28, boots do 2x12 packs for 6 quid as an alternative, but chemistdirect got some coupons to make delivery cheaper or 10% off order also and next day delivery, all those swayed me.

Since my hayfever tablets have been hit and miss lately I have tried a slight diet change also, eating half a red pepper and half or full onion, these 2 foods are suppose to stop histamine over production or reduce it in the body, its only been 3 days but feel better but will keep it up for 2-3 weeks lets see if I have a sneezing fit off 20 sneezes or manflu nightmare again.

Make sure to get some mouth wash or mints for those onions your eating :p

Are your fex 120mg or 180mg ?

I started taking hayfever tablets in March to give them a chance to build up in my system, haven't suffered at all so far, mine has got less and less irritating as I get older.

180mg fex tablets, am taking 2-3 per day (although one recommended daily)

Yeah guess it sounds silly with the onions and red peppers into daily diet but hey after 20+ years of suffering ill try anything !

Ill give it 2-3 weeks and see if it works or not, probably an old wives tale but will see.

Worst I've had in years. I'm on the strongest my doctor can prescribe to me, fexofenadine as cetrizine hydrochloride is too weak.

Still suffered all day and had to have a couple of shots of chlorphenamine maleate which doc said I can do in extreme circumstances. Must have sneezed over 150 times today, rubbed my nose raw and urrrgh bright light was too much.
Started at 4/5am

Kill me. I have Aspergers and ADHD and I would say that my hayfever impacts my life significantly more than these.

Get my sympathy - managed to pickup a cold which I first though way hayfever with the relatively high levels a couple of days back - fortunately I only get hayfever when pollen count is at its most extreme and only lightly and that is bad enough.

hayfever should be classed as a disability in some cases, some days i can't do things or concentrate on anything other than blowing my nose constantly and i mean constantly i'd go through a whole box or maybe 2 of kleenex balsam a day as it's the only tissue that doesn't leave my nose sore and peeling and that's after taking medication etc, i don't like going out with friends as i'm not in a comfort zone with boxes of tissue and a bin and worry about sneezing so much and getting snot stains down my shirt, i never enjoy summer.

Woke up this morning really snotted up, which as I took a fexofenadine less than 12 hours previously raised on eyebrow.

Broke out the acrivastine and seems to have sorted everything out.

I was all like...wow no hayfever this year, so amazing. Haven't felt a single itch. Then I woke up this morning and haven't stopped sneezing and rubbing my eyes. God damnit. Feel like it's been hiding under my bed the whole time. :(

I thought I had a really heavy cold at the end of last week. Turned out it has been my hayfever. Really bad again today. Worst year for a long time.

Hate taking tablets so Nettle tea with a bit of honey. Once in the morning before I goto work and another around 7.00PM No runy nose, no itchy eyes, great sense of smell :)
