Hazro 24" S-IPS, micro review + chat

News about the revision 2? If I place a preorder for a HZ24W monitor, at OcUk shop, what revision should I receive?

I'm an Italian customer and I've already sent 2 emails from Hazro website to have some info about the 24" monitor, but they still have not replied after 5 days now (as written in the contact-us page they should reply within 24 hours). Do they usually reply, how long does it usually take?

Is there a phone number to call (can't find it on the website) ?

the new revisions arent released / manufacturered yet, all of the models are in the first versions afaik

Is anyone getting replies from Hazro? I didn't get any response from my last email. I've heard they're generally good, but a few people lately haven't had any response and this is certainly a concern when I'm ready to buy a rev2.

They took a while to respond to me as well so think they are just slow at getting back to people. I wouldn't hold my breath if you are after the next revision.

Also got my calibrator yesterday and have calibrated my Hazro, looked a bit weird at first as every thing seems to be less bright than before but then again I probably had every things too bright in the first place but feeling more comfortable with it now.

There my calibration results for anyone who is interested.

A few emails back they did mention I think Late July as a release for the rev 1.1 or fixed Hazro.

Regardless guess anyone will get it swopped out if they so require.

huh so they confirmed your getting the revised model? ie the fixed/updated model with hdmi and all?

whens it due out to you ?

After receiving a phone call from Hazro to sort out my faulty screen, it was agreed that I would receive the revised model based on that there is little point getting the current model, when the revised unit should be available soon (less than a month).

Although, they wouln't commit to a specific/official date, I was told it should be mid July!!

Considering i've RMA'd my 2nd screen to them and now i'm without anything (using CRT now) having paid my money i'm hoping the release happens during July. As, I mentioned before - i'm trying to look at the bigger picture as it should be worth it in the end!

Got this from them last night

Many thanks for showing interest in Hazro monitors. Currently, all resellers are out of stock of the HZ23W, HZ24W and HZ26W monitors and the revised versions featuring new updates are expected late July. Overclockers will be amongst the first resellers to stock the revised versions. Unfortunately, Hazro no longer supply directly to end users.

Should you have any other specific questions relating to the Hazro Professional range, please don't hesitate to get in touch via the online temporary contact form.

Yours sincerely,

I think it may just be compression artifacts. Not calibrated here, but I see it too. I made the same colour gradient with some image software and it looked OK to me.

The banding on the background of the Logitech page is part of the picture. It's a 256-colour gif image, so it bands because of lack of available colours.

Cheers for clearing that up.
Its my first LCD and I`m looking for faults lol

A question for those who have calibrated theirs.

This page from logitech. The turquoise gradient backround, the darker part has lots of banding on my screen. Has yours ?http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/mice_pointers/mice/devices/130&cl=gb,en

Can't tell you about the Hazro until Monday but I'm looking at it with my NEC LCD2690WUXi and I get banding in the darker areas, I have calibrated this monitor as well.

Cheers for clearing that up.

Apart from average black levels there aren't many other faults if you have a good screen but unfortunately that is the case with all IPS screens.
Regardless guess anyone will get it swopped out if they so require.

That would be cool, sometimes get a different DPMS error where when my screen turns off and goes into DPMS mode it doesn't come out unless I pull the plug and switch it back on! Only sometimes happens though.

High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) is a form of digital copy protection.

HDCP's stated purpose is to protect high definition content during transmission from a source device to a display device.

If your display device is not complaint the content will not display.

Latest contact with Hazro:

Many thanks for showing interest in Hazro monitors. The revised HZ24W and HZ26W models will be launched in late July featuring HDMI and HDCP [along with all existing inputs]. These revised models will be available from Overclockers UK [www.overclockers.co.uk] from where all pricing enquiries can be made [we anticipate that this will be towards the end of July].

Hazro monitors are compatible with 100mm x 100mm stands by way of a bracket which is only available from Hazro. However, we are considering marketing the Professional Range monitors as NOT being VESA compatible due to the difficulty in re-attaching the stand after it has been removed [the stand must be removed for the VESA bracket to be attached; however, customers have highlighted that re-fixing the stand is tricky. Note that removing the stand is fairly straightforward. Further information on this will be available in due course on our website.
