**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

Think I made the right decision with not being an early adopter, will the company exist in 3 years? How many people are going to complain in here? And will the 850 Samsung be better?
I personally would find it very hard to return a monitor.

Stand plus screen is 450, bit too much money for me to gamble with, that's why I guess I didn't pre order

Despite the few issues i still think this is a phenominal screen for the money! I can't imagain the new Samsung will be anywhere near it: 1920x1080 TN vs 2560x1440 IPS, there's no comparison!

Well i promised to upload a picture of the backlight bleed, and this amazing low quality picture will have to do till my new SD card gets here.

Forgive the quailty but what do you think?

What settings are you guys using on the WA Model. I'm finding dark scenes in movies very hard to see with out of the box settings. I have had set brightness right down though as it burns my eyes out.

My first post!

Got my WC model on friday. The image quality is superb, there's no doubting that. I think the glassless is better for me as I believe it has lower reflections and I'm, not that bothered about the 'look' of the monitor. The stand is cheap, but adequate.

This noise thing does bother me slightly though. I have a silenced computer and work in a quiet room. Most of the time it's not that noticable, but swiching windows you can often hear te change of pitch. Searching the net (can I link to other forums?) these are lists of monitors which do this to varying degrees. Most of them site less noise filtering electronics (not cheap components) as the cause.

Interestingly another IPS model as reviewed:

'HP LP3065
Moderate whine at all brightness settings, except maximum luminosity.

An additional unacceptable high whine appear in some documents with horizontal lines. This whine appear at all brightness levels including maximum luminosity. It is a rare event, but very irritating.
Zoom in and zoom out on this image, will result in a change of whine tonality.'

My WC whines a lot on this image. I'm not sure what my action is at the minute - it's rare (?!) I look at horizontal black lines, and if HP's have the same problem for 3times the price....

playing COD all weekend - awesome experience!

I'm using a combination of the recommend settings from Tft central and settings adjust to match the LCD adjustment test pages.

I'm not at home at the moment but I think my settings are:

Colour: User (R:23 G:23 B:23)
Brightness: 26
Contrast: 96
Eco mode: 25

I've found that gives the best balanced colours and contrast for me. You can edge the brightness up to 30-35 if that's still a touch dark for you as I've found that doesn't really effect the balance too much.

Does anyone have any photos of the non-glass version of the WA?

would like to see what the monitor difference is, as there are plenty of photos of peoples screens with the glass.

Well my monitor arrived earlier, only just set it up though.

No dead pixels, very fine tinting in the top but so slight I can hardly notice it, backlight bleed in the low right corner but nothing exceptionally bad. All in all I'm pretty happy. I have to say though I'm absolutely shocked at increase between this and my old 22" (1680x1050), this is a total beast.

Going to give it a whirl on some games and see how my graphics card copes ;)

Wow! I thought it was bad with a maximised text document. My WC sounds like it's about to explode if I view that fullscreen.

With that on screen it's louder than my PC, external hard drive and Sky+HD recorder put together. Does anyone know why displaying horizontal lines would cause a monitor to produce so much noise?

I'm inclined to say this happens on all monitors, I'm getting somewhat bad whine when viewing this image, otherwise it's totally silent. Remember that image is basically a test to make a monitor whine it's worst.

Cheers mate

I will give those settings a try when I get home from work

I get a noticeable buzz with that image as well, but not on anything else. It is also present on my Dell ST2220T 21.5" IPS touchscreen, although not quite as loud (but given that it is a lot smaller, you'd expect it to be quieter).

I've tried that on my old 27.5" HannsG and 22" Dell TN monitors and neither of them produced additional noise. Could the increased noise when displaying certain content be an IPS issue?

While those horizontal lines show the monitor at its worst, the noise can still be pretty bad when working with some real world documents. Filling in a PDF form was an annoying experience with the monitor's high pitched buzzing in the background. It was loud enough that I could still hear it with music playing.

For glass-version owners: The ultra-clear MXA-Film from photodon.com has arrived. It reduces reflections to about half intensity (compared photos with different exposures).

Hi again Klaus,

I really appreciate the link you posted to the anti-glare film. I've got my HZ27WC glass version on Friday and it is an awesome monitor, but it is very reflective. My first instinct was to just return it as unusable, but I decided to give it a few days to see if I would get used to it - after all the picture quality is very, very good.

My glare is not quite as bad as that posted by suj999 (below), but I can see myself clearly on blacks and blues. I know you say the film cuts reflection by 50%, but I'm trying to decide whether the better solution is getting a non-glass version or getting the film?

Playing games and using the monitor late at night this monitor is wonderful, but during the day I get distracted seeing my hands reflected in the screen as I type.

Thanks!

Yes my WC gives out a high pitched buzz as well with that image but but only if it is maxed to full screen, it's not particularly loud. Same thing with an excel spreadsheet if I create alternate a high contrast white and black lines horizontally across the screen (but not with vertical lines). I wonder if it is coming from the LED backlight, reminds me of the buzz fluorescent lights make before they fail  . I'm not noticed any buzz in day to day use or with these LCD image tests:

http://www.lagom.nl/lcd-test/

These are my settings (might play around with brightness/contrast to see it that changes things).
Brightness 30
Contrast 90
Sharpness 50
Colour Temp User - Red 30 - Green 22 - Blue 30
DCR Off
ECO 50

My old 20" NEC 20GWX2 Pro does not buzz with that image but is lower resolution 1680x1050 vs. 2560x1440

Hard to help you with your decision. With the film, it is still reflective, but less, and I am getting used to it. I am reducing ambient light to a reasonable extend, and redirected a mirror in the background… I suppose the glassless version would have been better, but it was not available when I bought it (and it was not clear if there would be such a version, at any time). And as my screen doesn't whine and has no defects at all, I better stick with it ;)

Cheers - Klaus
