**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

Slightly off topic but quite possibly relevant to many who will buy this monitor; due to the sheer size I'd very much like to split the screen in 2 halves (one for browsing, one for programming for example), I used some software way back when called GridVista which did the job but is there anything better I should be looking at?

Windows 7 has this built in! ;)

It does? How does one access such features? :p

EDIT:
Super + left / super + right. There doesn't appear any way of doing it on all 4 corners though which is a shame.

Slightly topic change

Hi - I currently have a samsung 226 bw and I am thinking of upgrading - apologies for the noob questions:
if I purchase a Hazro 27", does the higher resolution just give me better detailing, or do I get a wider field of view when gaming (the primary use of this monitor)
will my Radeon HD5870 drive this monitor at full 2560x1440 resolution?
lastly, if it's largely for gaming which Hazro version should i go for?

many thanks

Depends on setup/game, but you will get a wider field of view on a some games (racing games for example).

That's the card I'm using, and it performs well with this monitor. I've also got a 1080p IPS and I had Dirt 3 playing on highest settings on the Hazro and tv playing in windows media centre on the other monitor and it ran perfectly.

lastly, if it's largely for gaming which Hazro version should i go for?

WC is what I went with, cheaper and less input lag, so I'd say the WC is better for gaming.

An increase in resolution doesn't effect the FOV (field of view) that most games use, so moving from one widescreen display to another should make no difference at all to the FOV display no matter what the output resolution in.

I remember when most games didn't even use an increased FOV for widescreen displays at all, and merely cropped the top and bottom of the display image to stretch the sides to fit a widescreen display. I haven't checked recently to see if current games still do that or not.

I've had nothing but problems with ATI but now it's driving me mental! The crappy drivers just crashed my PC again but now with this monitor I can't see the BIOS/safe mode screens to get out of what's effectively an infinite loop. I don't have another monitor anymore either  Is there any way to actually get this flaming card and monitor to actually work together so I can sort this mess out again?!

Just a thought, and probably won't work, but does your motherboard have an onboard graphics card? If so, try plugging it into that if you haven't already

No onboard graphics for me unfortunately. I managed to get back into Windows eventually however the point still stands, I'm never going to be able to access the BIOS or figure out what's going on when Windows goes fubar again, I can't even see the Windows 7 installation through this monitor

What happens when you set the resolution to anything other than 2560x1440 in windows? And at the lowest resolution? Does it output correctly then?

I'm using winsplit revolution. You use ctrl-alt with the numeric keypad to snap the window side to side, up or down, or into the 4 corners. Each position has a number of (customizable) sizes.

I'm currently using LHS for browser, and the rhs split horizontally - upper for video (it'll even move a full screen video into a quadrant), and lower for email.

Works well.

I think my WA monitor may have a problem. I received it yesterday afternoon, and set it up with the provided DL DVI cable. Went the full day with no problems whatsoever. Woke up the following morning, switched on the monitor and PC but I get no display! The monitor definitely powers on as the power light flickers between blue and red for a few seconds before changing to a solid red. I checked the cables, all seem fine.

Things I've attempted:
- Tried other cables: HDMI, VGA - still no display
- Reinstalled Windows 7 - nothing
- Connected my old monitor - works perfectly, so the PC is fine.

Any idea of the issue here, guys?:confused:

You could try selecting the DVI input with the upmost button of the monitor.

After sleep mine sometimes doesn't sincronize with the computer, showing just noise. In this case, switching the screen off and on again helps (with the round button).

Cheers - Klaus

You mean the source button? I've tried that. The OSD menu doesn't show up either.

I think I might have to RMA it. Who do I contact?

Edit: Just called them up, sending it back for a replacement.

Now where do I get a plain outer box?
