**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

Hmm, might be having issues with mine.

Turned it on this morning and the display was 'fuzzy' as if things were out of focus. Turned the monitor off and on, it went away briefly and then came back. Turned the PC on and off and it seemed to go away completely, but I'm definately going to have to keep an eye on this.

Only purchase this monitor if you can live with the cuts made to reduce the price.

Cause to be honest, it don't feel like a 500 pound monitor, while the display is great and thank god I've had no issue... I can blatantly see where corners could have been cut.

Speakers are just useless, they should been taken out, and the money saved on them (. 10 pounds?) could have maybe put that towards a better osd

Oh well. I like my monitor but it's defo not going to win any awards for design

The alternative is to pay almost twice the amount for a monitor built around the same panel with far fewer connectivity options. There are numerous posts scattered around various forums from users experiencing difficulties with these expensive displays. The fact that one pays more doesn't necessarily mean its a 'better' display. We could have encapsulated these into a fancy AL enclosure but that would have meant a massive increase in the retail price. We weren't looking for design awards - we simply wanted to offer a high spec model at the cheapest possible price. The glass comes from Japan and is rated as being the clearest for LCD use. Internal power supplies were dropped to extend the lifespan of the panel. The OSD is basic but functional with plenty of options for users to play about with [the only competitor to this model has no OSD whatsoever]. Perhaps the buttons could have been placed at the front as a touch panel but that would have meant extending the bottom bezel. The point is that we feel the combination of panel quality, aesthetics and features makes these models a great buy.

5W+5W stereo speakers are rare on monitors - so we'd disagree they are useless. If you choose to not use them, we offer alternative connectivity options including SPDIF output [you would have to search very hard to find a monitor with SPDIF out].

Personally I think the monitor looks great (glass C version here). I now use the internal speakers with a seperate subwoofer which gives an acceptable sound. My only issue is still the Nvidia detection problem (I can't use it with a second monitor or TV) and apparent lack of HDCP compliance. Any word on this Hazro?

hazro, any help on my issue mentioned above?
For some reason, it seems drivers are only being loaded once Windows starts and not before then. I have forwarded this to our engineers - lets see what they have to say. Most problems reported are difficult to diagnose because we're unable to replicate the issue here but we will try this week.

HDCP is certainly an issue on the HZ27WC model with some reporting its fine whilst others can't get it to work. The EDID showing its not HDCP compliant isnt so much of a problem: the issue is whether a genuine blu-ray disc works or not. For now, we've removed all mention of HDCP from the HZ27WC blurb [but continue to pay royalty fees]. Our engineers are working on this. A new model [same panel and design] featuring DP and twin HDMIs is due to be launched but was stalled for this same problem. We will keep users posted and I suspect an answer this month.

The Glass version looks really good, have a look at the glass version and you will see how good it looks. And the speakers are useable.. Im using them as basic speakers. As I only connect to the main speaker / headphone when Im playing games or watching movies..

The whole purpose purchasing this was because of the screen. Which is why I bought it. However obviously I have constructive critique. I'm just saying once you go over 450 pounds for a monitor, another hundred don't hurt me.

I have no use for spdif out. I have a Sony sound system, and the receiver has 2 hdmi 2 spdif and many more. I'm just saying that the Market for these monitors, you could have offered maybe more in aesthetics, the speakers are nver no use to me and I am not a fan of monitor speakers because they are no where near as good as the quality sound I get from my system

I adore the panel and gloss and have no qualms and had 100% faith in a British supplier. I fully support national businesses as I know how easy it is to be undercut. But I'm also a designer, I appreciate aesthetics as part of the whole product.

Obviously these are just my opinions and must say I have no issue at all with my monitor, maybe I was lucky :p. There is slight backlight bleed but you can't see it at all. Only if you look for it

Thanks for the update. I tried an HD DVD on WinDVD 9 and it refused to play because of the non-compliance. It plays fine when I connect my TV though a DVI to HDMI cable on the same card.

MirrorsEdge

I had the same problem as yourself, it has been returned, now just waiting on a replacement. I hope the next one is going to last.

Support from both Hazro and Overclockers about my monitor have been great, nice to get well mannerd people who are prepared to listen on the other end of the phone.

..........

"I think my WA monitor may have a problem. I received it yesterday afternoon, and set it up with the provided DL DVI cable. Went the full day with no problems whatsoever. Woke up the following morning, switched on the monitor and PC but I get no display! The monitor definitely powers on as the power light flickers between blue and red for a few seconds before changing to a solid red. I checked the cables, all seem fine.

Things I've attempted:
- Tried other cables: HDMI, VGA - still no display
- Reinstalled Windows 7 - nothing
- Connected my old monitor - works perfectly, so the PC is fine.

Any idea of the issue here, guys?"

Friends visiting have only had positive things to say about my WC monitor. The glass version simply looks stunning. The image quality insane!! Factor in resolutions beyond the norm of the current Full HD trend .. at less the £400.. and i'm gob-smacked people can still moan about design flaws and cost undercuts. For  sakes throw your money at a Dell for twice the price if you want to..

Hazro have done the near impossible here.. and i for one am incredibly happy with my purchase! As long as they look after those customers with problems with their monitors then they cannot go wrong!

Cheers!:D

Does your graphics card support the native resolution of the Hazro monitor? That's the only other thing i could think of checking [assuming the monitor is actually fine] .. if the new one arrives and does the same thing, you may wanna swing round a friends place and try it on their machine.

Yes the gfx card is fine, i had been using the monitor for about 2 weeks then just done what has been explained. Tested other pcs plus all the other ports using xbox, ps3 etc.

The osd will not even display, so certainly nothing to do with gfx support.

Hi this is probably really stupid question but i just wanted to clear up what are the problems with the hazro 27 monitors and nvidia graphics cards

the nvidia graphics cards doesn't recognize the screens probably, WC AND WA but seems to produce the correct resolutions

WA has scaler issues with the nvidia cards

or is there more issues that means if i have gtx580 i basically shouldn't buy these screens and wait for the new model mentioned by hazro in the previous post.

Any info would be amazing

So close to a brilliant screen,

looks like dell U27.... time to get saving.

Here's the long version of my experiences, in the hope that it helps someone and especially in the hope that it helps Hazro to solve the problem.

From my GTX 260 card I had the Hazro H27WC connected and a DVI to HDMI cable connected to a TV in another room (contolled by wireless keyboard and pointer; used to play Blu-rays). When I first booted up, after the inital POST screens and first Windows flag, the screen went blank. I tried a few times and got the same problem. At this time the TV was on standby. I turned it on, switched to the appropriate HDMI input and sure enough, there was the login screen. I logged in and opened up Nvidia control panel to see if I could switch it over, but only the TV was detected. I then rebooted with the TV disconnected and this time the login screen appeared on the Hazro in full 2560 X 1440 resolution (obviously, I had never manually set this resolution). When I opened up Nvidia control panel, there were apparently no monitors connected. The dropo-down resolution menu was blank. Some games now have 2560 X 1440 added to the resolution options, so this much is being detected by the drivers. Nvidia control panel reports that the monitor (which does not exist) is not HDCP compliant. On one occasion it did report a Samsung monitor, but only once and I can't remember the circumstances. WindDVD 9 failed to play an HD DVD due to non-compliance, though it plays fine on the TV..

So, from my experience, at full resolution as a standalone monitor it works fine, actually brilliantly. But now I can't play Blu-rays (or a few old HD DVDs) on either the Hazro or the TV (the latter being disconnected).
