**HAZRO HZ27WA & HZ27WC ARRIVING SOON INCLUDING NONE-GLASS VERSIONS!**

Won't notice the difference between IPS and TN? There's a vast contrast there, and people almost always notice it.
... snip snip to keep the post shorter

I wasn't saying you wouldn't notice the different, just saying if you don't notice the reflections, you surely wouldn't notice any other differences in quality!

I also specifically said hobby, not professional. Also as has been stated, 10bit won't make any difference.

Guys, the glass is untreated. Meaning, it can't do anything to benefit the quality, but joesmith is right in that looking through untreated glass can only deteriorate the image quality, maybe not to a noticeable degree for even the most anal about it, but it's there. That was one of the reasons I opted for non glass in the first place.

And as for reflections, it depends on the person. Some people are good at looking past the reflections and focusing on the screen, their brain effectively being trained to ignore the reflections. Some people are good at ignoring them on colour, but it becomes blindingly obvious on blacks. Others just rage whenever they spot a shiny.

I've got a secondary Dell IPS monitor which is more reflective than the Hazro non-glass, but appears less reflective than the glass Hazro, and I often find the reflections on that pretty annoying.

Do Dell sell a glossy IPS monitor?

Would be very interested in one (If I hadnt just bought a Hazro)

Yeah, well, it's their touchscreen one. Dell ST2220T 21.5" multi touch IPS. I didn't buy it for the touchscreen though, but cos it's an IPS monitor and I got it at an insanely cheap price :D

Here's something positive one review said about the glass screen:

"It looks great and helps to protect the screen while improving perceived colour intensity and contrast.."

Yeah, their touchscreen one, but it's way too small. keep the Hazro! :p

Too bad they weren't comparing it to the non glass, if so, they're completely wrong. The glass screen does nothing. It's the glossy coating of the panel itself that improves the perceived contrast as the light isn't being diffused everywhere by an anti glare layer.

Maybe they could make the glass like a fat magnifying glass the wrong way around. That would certainly improve intensity and contract!

21.5" is too small. Would have been interested in a 27" version of it if sold for around £600

I have passed this on to Dell already. I'm keen to have them expand their lineup of 'glossy' IPS models beyond just the ST2220T. The main man I want to speak to about this is busy travelling at the moment though so I am still waiting for him to settle down ;).

Hi,

Am I right in thinking these monitors do not have scalers built in? Given this, would it be possible to play games at 1920x1080 and have the GPU scale up to full size? ATI, if it makes a difference...

the WA does have scalers and thats one off the main reasons i bought it i am going to do a little review tomorrw and post it as this is one of the main questions i wanted to know too

The WCs doesn't have scalers, the WA and WDs do.

Your graphics card will scale it automatically. If it's connected to your computer, scalers on the monitor should never be used.

The scaler is ONLY necessary if for some reason your graphics card can't scale correctly (only heard of scaling issues with limited nvidia cards) or you are connecting another device to the monitor, like a games console or tv box of some sort.
Hence there is no scaler on the WC with only the DVI port, where as the WA with HDMI etc has one.

If it's just connected to your computer, you only need the WC.
