Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

Can't you just take the glass off? Or take the refund and buy the non-glass version?

I've had my non-glass WC for 6 months and I'm very happy with it.

the non-glass version is £60 each more than i paid for the glass, so to 'downgrade' to non-glass, i'd have to pay an extra £180!

on your non-glass version, is there a metal rim around the edge of the display, about 1cm thick?

when the glass falls out, to be honest, it doesn't look 'that' bad, apart from the metal rim.

i'm just wondering if the metal rim can be removed easily and thus converting it to non-glass...

edit: btw, where are you in ni? i'm from the maiden city!

Purchased 2 glass 27inch models just under a year ago, wifes is fine, my glass started slipping so RMA it. What a joke took 2 weeks of emails for them to pick it up, (they do a straight swap for non-glass version only). They have had it a month now and do not reply to my emails. Sent another online query a week Friday said they would look into and send one out last Monday, still nothing still no replies. The extra premium for a Dell is 100% worth it, dead pixel policy RMA etc. Hazro as a company are a farce.

Yeah if you're going to RMA one of these do it through Overclockers rather than direct to Hazro. OC picked mine up the day after I requested the RMA and it went to Hazro the day after. Though obviously that still doesn't speed up Hazro actually fixing the damn thing! 6 weeks and nothing at all from them, so contacted OC as it was then over 28 business days and they said they would process a refund for me. Hopefully the refund will show in my account this week (though maybe not with the bank holidays) so I can buy another 27" soon, not sure which brand yet but I'd certainly never buy anything from Hazro again.

In short: Overclockers good, Hazro bad.

complete opposite to me! i rang them (OCUK) up, they picked up the monitor about 3 days later, and i told them i was off on holiday the next day for a week, so to leave posting the replacement until after that time. the tech support guy said it would take longer than that for the turnaround, so i left it at that.

two days later, when i was on holiday, i got an email saying the replacement was on it's way! wtf!

they tried and failed to deliver it twice, during the next two days before i got a chance to speak to DPD and have it re-arranged for when i got back!

it was too bloody fast!

Mine is working A-ok, but it does buzz which is irritating.

Looking to move to a pair of 30" at some point though, as the PPI of the 27" is too small and OS X isn't that resolution independent :(

Just noticed my glass is slipping, went to wipe away a blip at top of screen and it was the screw below.

Shocked to hear of glass falling off in this thread, bough it from OC in December 11. Not sure what to do as it's perfect and wouldn't want to risk another panel.

welcome to our world! my 3 monitors all had/have a manufacture date of 11.2011.

fwiw, if you rma it, the one i recieved as a replacement was a b-grade monitor! it also has the same manufacture date, so i'm assuming it has the same sliding glass problem. ocuk were unable to tell me the exact reason for it's b-grade status, so i can only assume it will slide eventually...

It's loose in some places and solid in others (top is ok, bottom lifts off with gentle pull) so don't think it'll fall off.

Couldn't live with it completely off as the power light is ugly on the rim. I've replaced a few iphone screens so considering heating the old tape with a hair drier and replacing with new

I've got the money from my refund :D It came through pretty quickly once authorised too. I have to say that Overclockers have been very good with this, it's just a shame Hazro weren't. Now to decide on what to get instead...

It's so sad coming in here and hearing about people with so many problems :(

I really consider myself lucky then, I got my WC glass version June last year and I've had absolutely no problems with it at all.

Despite my great liking for the glass screen, when the time comes I'll probably Not buy a Hazro monitor. Given how many problems others are having. I wouldn't want to take the risk. Unless it's for the 30" Hazro, which seems to be doing rather well.

I'd have to settle for a Dell or ACD then.

Fingers crossed I didn't just jinx myself. :(

My problem wasn't glass, it was a fault with the monitor itself which died after 6 months. Sadly I moved house and didn't RMA it until recently, so still waiting on OC after 6 weeks to find out if I can get the plastic panel or a partial refund.

Experience with OC has been great. Shame about the poor quality of these monitors though.

I totally agree. My HZ27WC (non-glass) died after 3 weeks. OcUK gave me an RMA number then sent DHL to collect it. I received a refund 2 weeks later.
The service from OcUK was excellent as always but like you say, it's a shame about the quality of the Hazros. Those people buying the Korean Catleap IPS monitors for £250 seem to get fewer faults even though they are supposedly lower grade panels.

Panel grading literally means nothing.

There's Dells and Apples, HPs, etc that have all kinds of backlight bleeding, tinting problems, dead and stuck pixels, etc.

The only benefit of an A+ panel over an A- (that the korean monitors use) is the A+ may calibrate closer to 6500k than the A-. Unless you're a professional colour artist (in which case you should have a NEC instead) you won't need to bother.

Don't get so hooked up on the panel grading.

One of my Hazro's has broke, after about 10 mins use if flashes every second or so and won't switch off.

I bought it in October last year, whats the best way of returing it?

It causes another problem as I will need another screen while it's away so I will need to buy one then sell one when it comes back :(

Don't you have a TV to use for the really vital things while the monitor is gone? Would be a lot cheaper ;)
OCUK has a contact page which lists the best ways to contact them. No harm in asking if they can supply a (temporarily) replacement.
If you bought from Hazro directly there really isn't any other way than using their contact form and that may take quite a while.

Jimmy just do a regular OCUK RMA request and they will pick it up from you next day and send it on to Hazro immediately - don't bother trying to go to Hazro directly, they are likely to take too long.

Unfortunately! The monitor has started working again, I know whats likely to happen they will turn it on and say it's working and send it back to me so I'm going to wait till it breaks again and video it and turn it round to show the serial number then send it back with a copy of the video.

This is the 2nd time it has happened, it done the same a few weeks ago but it fixed itself within half an hour, this time it was doing it all morning but when I switched it on about an hour ago it was working.
