Hazro series - HZ30Wi, HZ30WiQ, HZ27WA, HZ27WB & HZ27WC

I got a reply from Hazro today, put simply they're working on the problems like the HDCP compliance on the WC and the nvidia compatibility problems and should hopefully give us some information on here once they have more :) Certainly cheered me up to know that something is being done.

Yes, but if they do fix the problems with HDCP and nvidia compatibility in newer versions, does the included warranty cover such problems if you bought the screen now? meaning
will you be able to get a replacement without problems when the newer versions come out or will it be since you have the screen now, then you're stuck with the problems.

Actually, I might consider buying this screen again if they do fix the problems with HDCP and nvidia compatibility and if the nvidia software screen scaling options work the
way they are supposed to in allowing you to use a lower resolution without big black borders.

Got to agree with khaaan, the sealed brushed aluminium casings on the old hazros is very nice...probably contributed towards my screen still working years later.

finally got my HZ27WA
Things i noticed so far:
- no hdcp issue (in nvidia control panel hdcp status is ok), but didn't have material to check it
- stand is cheap and tilting screen goes hard and feels risky
- panel has only 2 screws for vesa mount(not sure if its intended)
- no audio cable but that is not a problem as I will not use it anyway
- part of the plastic at the back below connectors makes connecting cables difficult sometimes
- noise of menu buttons is ****ing me off especially at night :P

When it comes to dead pixels i didn't notice any so far. I didn't search for those with loop as well. Scaling works ok.
Gaming is a pleasure. Movies even better.
I've put the settings as posted on tftcentral icc database but it feels bit blueish.
Normal settings feel like gamma set to 1.0. Maybe its a windows 7 settings fault.
I didn't force it in nvidia control panel.

It's only the WC that has the HDCP and control panel issues, the WA is ok.

Just bought the WA one of these even though i was a bit wary reading peoples comments about dead pixels and dust.

Luckily there doesn't seem to be either and i have to say what a monitor, for the money it's superb in my opinion.

I've moved on from the BenQ 120hz and the qaulity in picture is night and day, i fired up Bad Company 2 and it was like a new game especially in the higher res.

Yes it's not as smooth because of the lack of 120hz but a little sluggishness and slower response is certainly outweighed by the quality of this.

I'd find it really hard to go back to a TN panel now as this is my first IPS.

What picture settings are you guys running? I'm using the TFT Central ones and they seem ok.

All in all a happy customer! Now time to shift the other 2 monitors sitting around lol.

Is the 30wi much better then the 27C for the 400 odd pounds more.

Any one had the two or seen them.

Might refund my pre order and get 400 hundred back worth it?

Guys I'm thinking about replacing my TN23" with a 27WC, what is the opinion on it now? Should I wait for a newer firmware?

It'll be mainly for gaming with some movies/web.

What graphics card do you use?

Might be worth waiting a little while to see what answers hazro give to the questions i've asked them.

Thinking of getting a Hazro HZ27WA, so how is the finished product now as compared to when it was first released?

Do they still come with a highish number of dead pixels and dust under the glass covering, or do these 2 issues seem to be resolved?

Also, what about the general quality of the product, is it still being put together sloppily?

Thanks...

Got 5850s in crossfirex, I think I'll at least wait till the next batch come in to see if it has any dust issues too..

It doesn't matter since dust will get under the glass anyway. You'll either notice it straight away or learn to live with it.

Otherwise it's a great monitor. It has issues with yellow tint and might not work correctly with every graphics card as has been reported in the thread.

I still can't get it to display in BIOS on my reference 5850, will try on another 5850 in a minute (non-reference design). It is an issue if you haven't got a secondary monitor to hook up or aren't upgrading any time soon.

There was never a high number of dead pixels/stuck sub-pixels with these monitors, at most you will find a few but with such a small dot pitch, it will be hardly noticeable in normal use (as in you will notice it only on specific backgrounds and under good lighting conditions).

I would be more worried about the glossy panel as you really can see reflections of everything like in a mirror unless you're in a dark room.

How will dust get in if it's a sealed unit? surely the vent holes at the back shouldn't let dust into the front of the monitor?

It gets under the front glass, I have way more dust now than I had when I got my monitor.

Nothing you can do about it, I'm afraid, unless you live in a dust-free environment.

Getting rid of all dust is impossible in my room, even though I keep things tidy and clean up every now and then.

Must be a few really dodgy examples about!

How many have more dust now than when they first had the unit?

I still have nothing on mine, and my house is a typical older house that has high dust levels!
