HELP !!! (Urgent) 290x not being detected!

If you can see the bios screen with just the 290 in your PC then reinstalling windows is a good idea, If you get no output with 290 and nothing displays on screen at all then it's either card , mobo. , Or power related.

The Psu can power other cards fine. I get no display output what so ever the moment I use the 290x. Motherboard doesn't seem to have any problems at all with anything else......

Still when the drivers are installed it shows up n device manager as a 200 series card yet I'm unable to use it for anything no matter what I've tried..

I hope to god that ocuk do something Pfft.

I went from an Nvidia 670 to an asus 7970 matrix and the only way I got it to work was a full reinstall it's worth a try

Yeah if your not seeing the anything even before Windows starts loading drivers then theres pretty much nothing you can do at the OS level to fix it - other than using it to apply firmware updates. Try it without the HDD connected just to see if you can see the error it spits out when no bootable media is found.

EDIT: Though some variations of GPU and monitor might not work at displaying anything at BIOS level at all - IIRC the DGM ones often don't like an AMD GPU.

You probably have already tried this. Try the dp port to your monitor or the hdmi as I had a strange one where my monitor would it detect the gpu until I connected it to the display port

Just one saying that there is no bootable media etc.

It does not do anything with the 290x connected i can only see that if i use the onboard or another gpu.

:(

Point being if your not even seeing that message via DVI or HDMI when connected to the 290 then either the card has a compatibility issue with the monitor (if you've tried different displays then it won't be that) or theres a hardare issue unrelated to the OS.

Worth a shot I guess but looks like its gonna have to be an RMA job to me. Given the number of people I know out of those who have bought 290s that have the blackscreen/redscreen issue and had to RMA I'd honestly buy a 780/ti if your gonna have it setup in a loop.

Yeah well ocuk better be willing to pull some magic here as I am not waiting till after new year for a graphics card.
I had to wait nearly two weeks for the order to be dispatched due to warehouse shenanigans then my gpu is Doa.

Spent over £2000 in my last order so I hope for an actual decent response from who ever speak to in the morning.

Pfft yeah I'm gong to get a classified 780ti **** this ****.
