Heroes of the Storm

grrrr was lucky to win a beta key for this but its NA. trying to trade for an EU key.

is it possible to get the NA key working if i created a new battlenet account ?

First game impressions. Mechanics seem even simpler than I thought. Up for trying this as a group at some point though. Game just seemed to end up as 5v5 mid constantly. Is this just because I was playing with morons or is traditional laning not really worth it?

From my limited knowledge of the mechanics (only just got the beta key and gave it a 4-5hour whirl) I think going all one lane will put you at huge disadvantage at start as the experience from killing minions is shared between all members, therefore, 3 lane split will get 3x the amount of experience of all in one lane. Also, pushing for towers early won't do much unless you have very specific pushing setup and the people in mid can't defend at all.

You'll also be losing all of the objectives if you don't roam around the map which give a massive advantage.

I've just bought and played few games with the ice mage (Jaina irc) and like it a lot.

As for the matchmaking system, I don't think it's bad. If anyone played few mobas at varied levels (not just bottom, ie bronze/silver in LoL) will know that the majority of the players have no real clue of what to do so if you're a high level player you'll get matched with all sorts of people until ranked gets stabilized and the player base increases.

I've played league on and off for a few years and have met people with 3000+ games who still have not a clue of basic gameplay mechanics therefore I don't see why anyone should expect otherwise from a game that is barely in closed beta with limited amount of players for not much longer than a month or so.

It's the same for all multiplayer games where you get matched with random people.

Early doors it can be a good tactic, if you can kill a couple of heroes its some nice early XP. After that you are best to keep an eye on the objectives for that map and roll as a group to claim them, if you don't and the other team are you will just get outnumbered.

Keeping on top of lanes is still a thing, but if you do that and ignore whatever the map mechanic is you will likely loose.

Yeah, you need a nice balance of taking all lane XP while objectives are down and grouping up when they become active, depends a lot on the map you are playing.

I really enjoyed this game, is it DOTA? no. If you want a more hardcore moba then stick with it. But this is fun, its just lots and lots of fun and largely without the toxic community of LoL.

add me guys if you want more players to play with. you get 50% extra XP when playing with a friend in party. levels up a lot faster

once you hit lvl 30 you can play hero league, where you cant pick the same hero on both teams and you take in turns to pick your character so its slightly more organised than the quick match up system.

picked this up yesterday so will be looking for some games :)

if you don't mind playing with a newb :p soarem#2550

p.s. did play some dota 2 but only offline. too worried I'd be too bad for online play :p

Played a bit more of this now. I think my favourite thing about this is I can just go in as a solo player, pick any hero I want to play and have a fun game. Dota will always be my favourite team game but going in solo queue is such a mixed experience, a lot of heroes require the right team composition to really work well.

Got a couple of you on here but add me if you want to play Shamikebab#2191 :)
