Hip-hop thread

Absolutely love Hip-hop it's my favorite genre by far. I wanted to share this one because I don't think I've seen it mentioned yet. Technically and lyrically just absolutely insane. Nas said Hip-hop was dead, I say not even close :). Let me know what you think.

^^ My ears are sore, is there an instrumental version? ..the baselines are wicked, don't know why we never hear it on it's own, he's just spitting lyrics all the time.
The lyrics and more importantly his delivery are what makes it so special. He uses circular breathing technique in order to rap in almost perpetual motion. Very, very hard to do :).

As for the beat you may recognize it ;).

Here's another one that blew my mind the first time I heard it. This guy is a bit of a genius especially when it comes to the art of freestyle rapping.

If you watched that last video which gives you an insight into the complexities that can exist with-in a Hip-Hop song, go back to the video I posted of K.A.A.N Kaancepts and try to understand just why that song is something special.

I also found this interview which I found quite interesting. Feel The Wrath of KAAN: Knowledge’s Human Form - https://cutxsewnmagazine.com/2016/02/07/feel-the-wrath-of-kaan-knowledges-human-form/

First, let’s get this started with a slight disclaimer: This editorial is long overdue. I say this because I first contacted Brandon way back in September of 2015. It’s now February of 2016 and this is just taking its first breath. However, take my word on it when I tell you that the wait was well worth it.

You’re probably wondering who this dude “Brandon” is. To explain him in the simplest of ways; his name is Brandon Perry and he’s a 25 year-old rapper currently killing it in Maryland. The thing is, Brandon isn’t necessarily a “simple” guy. As a matter of fact, he doesn’t even go by Brandon Perry. If you know of him, you know him by K.A.A.N. No, not like the Khan from Star Trek or Genghis Khan from your AP History class, but K.A.A.N. as in Knowledge Above All Nonsense. For short, call him Knowledge because that’s what he is embodies in his music. He becomes the literal physicality of Knowledge.

Knowledge made a name for himself with his impeccable and untouchable flow, as well as his ability to spit abstract rhymes at rapid fire speed, and of course his catchphrase “LAWD!”. All of this started about 4 years ago, when he was 21. Before this age, Knowledge wasn’t fond of writing nor recording music, he was only familiar with the art of freestyling verses. KAAN released his first project on Soundcloud about a year ago entitled Losing My Religion, which is when the world experienced only the very beginning of the wrath of KAAN. Now, at age 25, Knowledge is well on his way to becoming one of the most prominent talents of the rap genre.https://cutxsewnmagazine.com/2016/02/07/feel-the-wrath-of-kaan-knowledges-human-form/

This guy bodybags pretty much the entire US scene

Not my genre, but I agree Akala kills just about anything I've heard in recent times for flow and content. Modern rap/hip-hop too clichéd for me, so to have an artist bringing it back to politics, expounding on human nature etc - and do it with wit and a strong lexicon - is welcome. FITB Part IV is his best for me, but all four are excellent.

NWA's Straight Outta Compton still one of my favourites here; some classic tracks, vicious energy. Beastie Boys are also an easy listen for me, Eric B & Rakim, Wu-Tang/earlier Ghostface.

One of the best:
