Hiphop fans in here?

Someone linked me to a Akala YouTube video, pretty good lyrics and not rapping about killing anyone.

gonna see Lowkey this weekend in Bradford.

Knowledge is Power

Been listening to Cunninlinguists for the past few years. Every album/song is consistently awesome.

Anything/anyone similar that I should check out? (also really like [MF] Doom $ Jedi Mind Tricks if that helps)

Theres a new Doom/Master Ace album out this month apparently.

Master Ace is an obvious choice if you havent heard any of his stuff, A Tribe Called Quest, Dangermouse and Jemini (you might have this already if you like doom cos of the Dangerdoom collab), Gangstarr, old pre doom doom was KMD, Main Source, School of Hard Knocks, Soul Khan, Beatnuts, Vordul are all stuff worth checking out if you can find it.

Sweet :) I've been a bit out of the mix that past year or so.

I know the name Master Ace, but couldnt put a song to his name. Any albums in particular I should give a whirl?

I have the Dangerdoom album, pretty much everything Gangstarr have released (I love the jazzmataz albums by Guru) and Kausing Much Damage stuff ("peach fuzz" is a great track).

Pretty much maxed out on everything Doom has done. I do love King Geedorah album though; wasn't there was talk of a sequel?

Everything master ace has done has been golden, but Disposable Arts from 2001 is probably my favourite, it has an operatic theme, starts with him leaving jail and going back to his old neighbourhood before joining the rap college, its fantastic all the way through.

Sad news everyone, last week Ryu tweeted me and said that nothing was going on with Get Busy Committee and it had one foot in the grave!

Good news through... Army of the Pharaohs have started working on a 4th album!!!!

I've got about 50 odd new albums downloaded and just trying to go through them all over the last couple of weeks to see what's good. After my Outerspace - My Brothers Keeper find and also Dom Kennedy - From the Westside with Love mixtape I think I've found another gem: Murs - Love and Rockets - Volume 1 The Transformation

At the moment this is my favourite track off the album (the first guy is Tabi Bonney, Murs comes in a bit later):

The vibe from this album is like a new style jazz with a retro old school feel:

Murs is very good at telling a story in a descriptive yet comical way:

Album review here.
