HIS Excalibur X1900 XT-X ICEQ 3 SILENT

Tommy B said:
I need to decide tonight.

For the SAME price.

Either the HIS X1900XT ICEQ

or the PowerColour X1900 XTX
If they're the same price then get the ICE-Q one and fit a VF900-CU on it if you're not happy with it. The stock cooler on the XTX will be a bit hot and loud in comparison, and you might end up replacing it anyway.

WOOP WOOP!!!.

:D

I can slightly hear mine when gaming, but as i said it only picks up a tad, if i went across the other side of the room i think id really struggle to hear it, id only hear the games im playing, i.e the music etc...

Unlucky there with the wife, thats the annoying thing if your trying to keep it under wraps from em, the startup gives it away, she'd have been non the wiser if it didn't do that on startup. :(

I'm not happy about doing any customs mods. Anyway, the ICEQ card has a custom fitted cooler on it. I just don't think the XT-X will make any difference when running at 1280x1024.

If you're not happy with custom coolers then go with the ICEQ to be on the safe side because there is a chance you will be unhappy with the stock cooler on the other. It's down to preference and existing air-flow in the case, in some systems and to some people it sounds a hell of a lot louder than in other systems to other people.

If you get the ICEQ you're basically getting the quietest X1900 out guaranteed. :) The extra "X" in "XT-X" means "X-tra cost" and nothing more.

Depends whether you are the sort of person who wants the 'e-penis +1' of a slightly better 3DMark score or whether you just want to play games and couldn't care for an extra 2 fps.

Yeah, you're right. It looks much COOLER anyway! (no pun intended :D)

I just realised; why do some companies spend money on pimping up GPUs when they're face down and you can't actually see them!

I was thinking the same thing earlier. XFX have put a lovely LED on theirs but it's facing down

Surely if they wanna pimp the cards up they put something on the back?

The graphic cards faces up in cases like the Lian-Li PC V1000,V1100,V2000,V2100.

I went for the This Week Only Powercolor XTX with Gibbo's discount. I just thought what the heck you won't get anything more powerful for that money! :D

I just hope you were joking when you said it sounded like a hair dryer! LOL!
