Various people have different opinions. Depends on how tolerant of noise you are.
The Zalmon VF900's are meant to be huge amounts better in terms of noise, howeev some peopple claim these will limit your overclocks when you really push the card.
Surely the Zalman offer superior cooling to the stock cooler? The stock one is pretty crap isn't it?

The stock one is just loud, its a good cooler, I know for certain that the older VF7000 can't cope with the amount of heat it gives off.
As to the VF900, I am hearing mixed stories, some people are removeing them and utting the stock cooler back on because it was much better at cooling and just living with the noise. Meanwhile other people ar more than happy as it has reduced there case temperatures. Guess it depends on the case layout if anything. just make sure you have good airflow straight to the cooler, say from underneath the case blowing directly on the cooler and I imagine it would be ok, I'l try it out myself when I get an X1900XTX, but at the moment on my X800XL it is far superior to the piece of crap that was on it. The X1*00XT* series have huge great big coolers though....

well mines is ok on stock dropping my x1800xt to 45 degrees from 60 but on load its pretty much the same in some tests....i.e 3d mark! Its much quieter and in load seems to reach the same levels as the x1800xt in temps but is not so loud and really I was going for the whole quiet pc thing so its a god cooler in that sence!

Its just not that much better than the stock cooler when it comes to all round cooling, well thats with my x1800xt

I doubt it would be great on an x1900xtx but I dont have the card so wouldnt know!

From what I read in the anandtech review, the cooler is only 1.5 decibels max quieter which doesnt seem a significant amount to warrant purchasing one if you already have a normal version of this card.

I dont give a crap what anyone says the 1900 series cards are loud, you probally woudnt be able to tell unless you have a fairly quiet system like mine, pretty much like a humming droane, but like everything you just get used to it & when your playing games its the last thing you will hear.

Have you called your local depot, quoting the reference number and asking them where the delivery is? Make a polite, yet forceful enquiry and you should get results. Chances are it's still on the van and for some reason or other Mr Van Driver hasn't got round to you yet.

Sounds Like City Link thru and thru - I had that happen to me many a time - when i lived up in the Lake District I arranged for City Link to deliver to my work place though I also arranged for my neighbour to look out for them at my home which at the time was a flat in a complex where calls and visits were logged. Needless to say nothing arrived at either place and when I ran the depot I was told the the van had tried to deliver to my home address and had returned the goods to depot on no answer and I would therefore have to travel 40 miles to Carlisle just to pick it up. Got the last laugh though as I had the prove they hadn't even bothered to try and deliver as there was no record of them at the visitors log where I lived so I made an official complaint and got my money back. Though I have still vowed never to use those idiots again for my own business -
Citylink - cheap but extremely shoddy

i waited 3 days for a supposed next day delivery from city link 2 weeks ago. they said it was down to a new driver who was "out on his own for the first time" LOL.
wouldnt have been so bad if it wasn't about £700 worth of ocuk stuff.

anyways re the iceq cards, i remember the last ever AGP gpu i bought was the HIS EXCALIBUR ICEQ2 X850XT-PE and to this day its the best looking, most quiet, and awsome overclocking card i've had.

defo getting one of these puppies for my sn25p shuttle soon(hoping it fits) as his claim that it lowers the temp of your computer case, as well as cooling the card(for shuttle thats ideal).

Give city link a call and ask them what they are playing at,im lucky as my m8 works in my area,if im not in he drops it round after work :D

Will do!

Thanks Ace. I think the "cool" factor certainly influenced my decision. In fact I think hardware companies are really stupid tbh. How exactly do they expect to sell cards if they're just the bog-standard looking ones. The reason I bought my memory was because of the LEDs, and the reason I got the ICEQ XT was because of the awesome design.
