***Hogwarts Legacy - RPG***

'Using DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation, GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs can overcome the 110 FPS CPU bottleneck encountered in Hogwarts Legacy by generating up to three additional frames per traditionally rendered frame, enabling GeForce RTX 50 Series gamers to play Hogwarts Legacy with ray tracing and maxed out settings at up to 210 FPS, instead of 110 FPS.'

Hmm okay Nvidia  nice patch

#Blackwell #RTXON master race!

I played this to death when it first came out, but I'm struggling to finish a second campaign. Is it worth playing this game a second time around?

Can't get over how good dlss 4 is in this game. DLSS 3 as we all know was already better than native but this is in another league. Even ultra performance looks incredible. It even looks better than DLDSR and dlss cnn

Yeah though I'm hitting CPU limit big time with DLSS 4 ultra performance + frame gen even with a 4080 Super and 14700K, though I'm not sure frame gen is working properly. But from a 480p to 1440p upscale it is crazy how even complex distance parts of the image retain a good amount of integrity, though I'd still use DLSS quality just for the extra sharpness and improved fidelity in motion where DLSS performance modes still have some drawbacks.

Yup no longer getting nasty horrible ancient raster/SSR artifacts of objects in front of water!

Sadly it is still not perfect with some effects missing in the reflections and occasional flicker or jumping of the reflection but it is massively improved from where it was - though I have some additional ray tracing tweaks external to the game which might be interfering I dunno - in theory they should be improving it.

MFG is going to be just lovely on 240hz screen especially when nvidia improve it over the next couple of months (just as they have done with all previous dlss/rtx tech) #MFGON

I wonder if rtx mega geometry will show more advantage on blackwell over ada too since better RT cores etc. (their white papers do specifically state blackwell should run better with mega gemoetry). Probably not long till we find out. Ada had some nice improvements over ampere in RT because of SER, ReSTIR improvements

I'm beginning to think that this account has been taken over by a chat bot sponsored by NVIDIA.

This isn’t the GPU sub forum, go and post there.

Not a Potter fan so this never interested me when it released.

But that aside is it a good game in its own right?

Worth a play?
I tried a bit of it as a non-fan and it's very much a standard open world game. Hit the quest points on the map and get your upgrades and materials. There's just all the magic stuff too which apparently millions of people enjoy!

One of the few games which has bit off something hugely ambitious and made a reasonable job of it, but definitely room for improvement - especially some aspects suffer from not taking the most advantage of the PC/keyboard and mouse and a few bits may not be that interesting to people who aren't hardcore Harry Potter fans (or some bits like the Room of Requirement stuff which combine both of those - being clunky to play on PC and far too involved if you aren't into that stuff but still need to make a certain amount of progress to move along in the game).

Poor mrk. Lol.
Lol I don't actually have a CPU bottleneck issue in this game... It's always well over 100fps with just 4K DLSS SR, no frame gens. They will never fix the engine level traversal stuttering as they abandoned bug fixing the game long ago.

I've noticed the "RT reflections" they introduced with the latest patch specifically on bodies of water isn't really RT but SSR. I asked the devs through Twitter but as expected was met with silence.

"Raytraced Reflections have been enabled on bodies of water, including the Black Lake."

Either it's broken or someone forgot to push something through to enable it.

The latest game update fixed a lot of bugs but the issue is Unreal Engine has deep seated issues that Epic refuse to fix.
