Hi there

These chips do seem to just hit 3GHz with ease. Our tech department took five out of stock for system builds and they all installed windows set at 3GHz out the box. :)

installing windows is no real test really. but i see its a fair indication of what to expect. :)

Well its a good guide if you can just throw a chip in a system with STD cooling and AUTO settings and everything just works. It means that once you get tweaking a lot more is possible as guys are getting here.

Remember chaps socket 939 is dead, this is the last batch, we can't find any more and as the stock reduces the prices will go up.....

Basically tried again last night, 260x12 with 1.47v is rock stable, I will try it at 1.44v tonight and see if its just as stable.

Anything higher than this (even 262) and it starts to get iffy, you can run one round of 1mb Super_PI but a 2nd time will crash the system, 3DMark2005 won't run, etc.

Think this is the max on air you can go, may go and buy water cooling now :p

Thing is in the BIOS it says the CPU has 1.5v and then in CPUz it says 1.47v so I don't know which to believe

I don't want to up it much more incase I toast the thing becuase of over volting or something.

I ran my 3700 San Diego @ 2805 MHZ With 1.6 Volts on a daily basis and it was fine, and still is.

Do you have the latest version of CPU-Z ? and have you tried the older versions,

I got a few of these 4000's a few weeks ago, all are KAB1E'S. The one in my pc is currently sitting at 3ghz although i have had it to 3.1ghz. Air cooled with xp-90c, was a bargain as i sold my old 3700sd for £87 :p

Yep I have the latest version.

I am currently using an 80mm fan but I may be tempted with the fan from hell, the 80mm delta (I would get a 120mm fan but I cant find the right adapters for my HS :()

Oh and on an interesting note, mine doesnt appear to be multiplyer locked ;)

Can anyone else confirm theirs isnt?

I ran it by accident at 9x260 and then at 11x260 and both times it booted up fine at those settings and I don't think my motherboard can unlock a multiplyer so i'm even happier now :p

Update it also said in CPUz Multiplyer was 9x or 11x so..
