Homefront

We got ninja-merged!

@Ravenger - The part thats even more stupid is that there is absolutely no reason to not release the game digitally the same time the USA get it other than that the retailers bitch about it because it would be an 'unfair advantage' for steam sales. Yet that hasn't stopped some american retailers selling it earlier than they were supposed to.

Should be playing this in the early hours as i ordered the usa version on Steam which hopefully will unlock in 8 hours will post what i think here if it does.

Had also got a free copy of Metro 2033 with it which i gave to a friend as i had it already.:)

What do you mean you ordered the US version on steam? As far as i know, steam don't particularly like you using proxies to pay for games in another currency.

I have a friend who moved to Boston recently who buys games for me via their Steam then sends them as a gift as some games aren't released on the UK version of it like Homefront.

So, who's giving this a go at the weekend?

Some PC multi

To me it just looks like a mod thats been around for a couple of years, it's fleshed out a bit but still just nothing but rough edges.

Watching the video, everything from the sounds, the particle effects, the animations, the view model, just the pace of the whole thing... no one major thing wrong, just lots of little details missing or looking just shoddily placed, adds up to a pretty terrible looking gaming experience.

Er... wouldn't you still have the UK version? After all its tied to a UK account and will be unlocked via a UK time.

I think the gun sound effects would annoy the hell outa me ><

ive pre ordered the game but im still sceptical about it ...we have a tourny starting up over at combat studios ..the guys over there have been testing the game and have only good things to say about it...

Why has Steam removed it from the UK market?

Had this on my wishlist but am not able to access the page anymore. Lame.

Some stupid deal with retailers in the UK so its not allowed on Steam, at least for now. Doesn't matter much given that its Steamworks anyway.

Should be plenty of gameplay footage tomorrow, will make up my mind then.

Have to say though, this game sounds really good, especially the fact that they're offering us the server files at some point.

Yep the same retailers that did their best to kill off PC games because they can't exploit them via second hand sales like console games now want you to buy the game from them, and they won't let you go to anyone else.

Bad move THQ, how can they get everything else right, then make it retail exclusive?

I was really looking forward to playing this...until I saw a bunch of gameplay vids.
It's just CoD with averagely implemented vehicles and just as bad graphics.

Games are always way over priced on steam, at least at launch. Had a coolshop point left over and preordered this for 22 quid delivered so no great loss.

Well it's pre-loading now so hopefully should be able to play within next few hours....i think the game looks decent although i rather play it myself than judge it from videos and also seen six reviews so far which have given it 8-9/10 scores.(although user reviews can be better than websites)

My only hope is that it is is more of the same of FOW.

I wonder if they will bring across some of the FOW multiplayer maps into Homefront? Probably not.

I thought the Multiplayer in FOW was very good, despite some of the issues which just never got resolved untill too late.
