Homeworld & Homeworld 2 HD remakes in the works

I can confirm that's the problem. I figured that one out in the end, although I didn't test whether it was Afterburner or Rivatuner.

A shame, I love watching my statistics :( Esp vram (there must be something wrong with me :D)

Can anyone find a slider for mouse sensitivity in game or am I going mad?

Just had a quick game of Homeworld 2 Remastered. Not sure if I like the mothership voice being the same as HW1, and I don't really like the UI either, particularly in Sensor mode, it looks all scruffy where before it was clear cut lines.

But hey it plays great.

Is there any in-game brightness setting available, I can't find one and its strange if there isn't one. Theres certain things regarding the UI that I'm not too keen on, instead of a graphical representation of ships selected in the bottom l/h corner of the screen, I prefer the old way of listing the ships in the top right corner and then selecting which ones you want from there. I also think the build/ research menu is a bit meh but at least you don't have to go into a different screen to see it and I now notice it costs you to research stuff, that caught me out the first time I used it.
Other than those points which are personal really, I think they've done a fantastic job on this, on the opening scene of the mothership departing the platform, my mouth was hanging open slightly with a grin on me face. The music is as it was before, and the voice acting is brill too. Very impressed with this so far.

Multiplayer is buggy, tried to play with 3 others and it was 0 ping or crash on loading, some work to do there. The gearbox shift linking is weird too. I don't really see the point to it.

Just finished - maxed my frigates capacity and just got to the first time you see destroyers. Going to have to taken them but a little tired now. The yellow will go nice with the 6 ion array frigates I have.

So far I am loving it (for the second time) and my only complaint would be the stupid button for hyperspace and the ship loading counter. Thankfully I found backspace for removing all of the extra HUD stuff.

I'be noticed that they've changed the ship balance from the original. Also there appears far more resources available in the new game when compared to the old one. The unit capping seems different also in that instead of just maxing out your corvettes irrespective of what mix of corvettes you've got (all salvage corvettes and nothing else), now you get a total of 20 salvage type and thats it, no more but you can also you can have other types of too, This means that you're gonna have to be far more careful later on 'cos you won't have so may salvage vettes to capture all those lurvely frigates, destroyers, etc. Also The enemy, deffo the taidan, are little bit more stronger than before 'cos in the "great wastelands" level where you can get those ion cannon arrays from the Taidan, I lost ALL of my interceptors and thats never happened before, a few maybe, but never all. The only type that survived were my heavy vettes, so either the enemy is stronger or you're weaker or agressive/ delta formations are not as potent as they were in the old game.
Still enjoying the game though and the graphics are superb.

I am so loving this game. The graphics are so sublime. I had to change the DPI scaling in order to use it fullscreen at 4K. It works fine now. Imagine what the mods will look like ! Star wars and Star Trek etc.

Anyone know the key for salvage?? I thought 'Z', but apparently not.

So if I have a dozen salvage frigates, what key can I press to then drag a box around enemy ships and have the frigates go scoop them all up.

I seem to only be able to right click the target, which results in having to individually select which frigates will poach which target...

Erm..anyone noticed that theres a limit cap on the salvage vettes? The max I can get is 14! wether or not that limit increases as the game progresses and carriers are available and so might increase the cap limit, but if it remains at 14, thats gonna really effect tactics used when people here are used to capturing everything in sight with a bucketload of these salvage vettes.

I've noticed that too, makes capturing harder and you have to be more selective in your target/s. Also why can't I get right click on a ship to pull up the menu like I used to be able to do in the original game? I've selected in the menu but nothing changes.

I'm sure I had the originals of these and either never played them or played very little, bit like the X and freelancer games. Are these actually worth playing for someone who's never really bothered?

Most definitely yes! :D

It just shows how far head of its time the original games were.

Just trying to get through The "diamond shoals" level, plays totally differently than the original game, just lost the mothership 4 times trying to do this level. Interceptors are useless, you need more fire power, going to try heavy corvettes and attack bombers and you'll need a lot I reckon, the asteroids are far less forgiving than before.
