Homeworld & Homeworld 2 HD remakes in the works

Brilliant strategy gameplay and a very good storyline, these days it is difficult to even get one of those aspects :p

You should check out "Nexus: The Jupiter incident" while you are waiting.

That's a superb game.

It will be good to play the Homeworld series once again. It's been far too long.

Yeah it is one of those diamonds in the rough you rarely hear about. I only played it by chance myself because I had a homeworld itch.

I'de be up for some of this, still ahve the originals, know where the disks are but on steam, hell if my Surface Pro2 would play it then that'd be cool...

Still super excited for this, loved it!

When I first heard about it I was a dead cert for buying the collectors edition. I figured I wanted to support the project, and it was a chance to connect with one of my favourite games of all time.
Now I've had time to get over the initial nostalgic excitement, I don't think I'll be getting the collectors edition after all.
It's not a price thing, it's simply that I have absolutely zero use for a model of a space ship! It'll all sit in a box forever, and forking out and extra £60 (probably, right?) for that is nonsense.

I'll pre order the digital version the minute it's released, but they can keep their toys.

Once I've played the crap out of SP again, I'll be online which historically I was always awful at, so I hope to see a few of you on there :)

As a model maker I like the look of that mothership miniature, but no way would I pay £60 for it, I'd rather build a version meself. I'll deffo have a remastered copy of 1 and 2 though. And as posted above, I'm going to be all over online play if its available. Those pics look fabulous, especially the Corvettes, looking forward to this release.

Did anyone else try to win battles by swarming bigger ships with a load of tugs and just stealing them? :D

Yes!

I recall a mission in HW where there were dozens of those ships, which had one massive laser, in a sphere formation around something. All it took was a bunch of tugs to entice one or two at a time from the formation and then when they were sufficiently far enough from the group, capture them. The rest of the game was easy mode after stealing most of those :p The last mission was just a wall formation of those ships in front of my mothership :D

e: Mission was 'Bridge of Sighs'

I remember spending ages waiting for those tiny Turanic missile corvettes, which attacked you in the first or second mission, to run out of fuel so you could capture them using the suicide method. This was the only time in the game they appeared and they were great little ships. I kept them for the entire campaign I remember now.
