Horizon: Zero Dawn [PS4]

Same here. 90% of my time I spend one foot, even in Witcher 3 and the likes. In HZD I need to pick up ALL the things!

You didn't thoroughly observe the area. I too was under-levelled as most of my arrows were hardly doing any damage to it. Think I only had green weaponry. Pretty sure of it. In between it taking huge running swipes at me. There was a nice trick from one of the pillars.

Its also a reason I've never went into any other cauldron again. Not yet at least. Nearly have all the shadow weapons and skills. Currently level 41. Need one slingshot and something else.

There was just a bunch of watchers and scrappers outside that I dealt with in no time, thought it would be easy enough inside! The shell-walker was easy enough but the bellow back was a pain.

Really enjoying the game so far. Combat is good but not brilliant, need to learn to use more different stuff and stock up on more traps. Story is excellent and while the facial animations aren't great the voice acting makes up for it.

Main thing is the world. Seems like such a waste all these open world games we have that are set in 'real' places, even historic ones, not forgetting the meh generic fantasy settings. You've got a clean slate with games, you can make any world you want! Do something different.

My only issue really is that the game is *really* making that itch to upgrade to a 4k HDR OLED + PS4 Pro worse :'(

Scort, depends... If I want to admire the scenery again or pickup lots of resources I'll get a mount otherwise fast travel.

Terraforming. Loved that. This has been the best part so far for me. The Kurgan is quite bad ass. :D

I never faffed about with the gee-gees until I unlocked the skill that allows you to summon one at will. Then it became very handy to go on small jaunts.

It doesn't quite fully work like that. Obviously you first must override one for you to always call but if you leave it and run off too far you'll have to override a new one. I've still to get the one where you whistle and jump on without it stopping.

No, there's a skill point that allows you to summon a mount at any time. It will come trotting along, overridden ready for you to jump on to. Sometimes it will be a strider, other times a charger. It depends where in the world you are.

Finally got the super armour, really glad I waited till i finished the story for it, really makes you overpowered, only times I have died since having it were falling off cliffs and taking on too much with zero prep

Just run back out of the quarry to the top of the cliff and you can shoot it from up and there and it won't hit you. Shoot off it's claws so it can't burrow and then it's easy.
ohh! yeah, I got the tactic down, it was just a lot more frantic being at eye level with it!

I used a mount for about 10 minutes when I took control of my first Strider, since then I haven't gone near using a mount to get around. It's much more fun to climb the rocks and take in the views.

Hmm, I cannot seem to find this tune in the Horizon Zero Dawn soundtrack. There was some very soothing theme after I left the sun mission.

Crazy the power these weapons are becoming.

Mmm found that tune in this clip, love it. A Wanderer's Work (Out of the Embrace)

Am I the only one who killed the rockgobbler by going toe to toe with it inside the quarry?
:D

Seems everyone else sniped it to death. Heheh
There was something very satisfying about shooting all it's feet off.

Received the Platinum theme code this morning folks! It's not too bad, and it's good to see the Uk getting something.

I hid behind the wooden fencing up the slope and threw stuff at it from afar :p As a fan of Tremors that thing when it emerged scared the hell out of me.

Nope, I did the same, never even thought about needing or wanting to cheese it lol :)

I also got the platinum code this morning :)

LOL! :D

It was so obvious what was going to happen approaching that mound. However, it was wicked and a tad edgy terrifying.

I'm really disappointed in the special armour. I was expecting to look like Elisabeth. That looked wicked but GAIA Prime, fascinating place. Has to be the best journey to a destination. Though I think I wrecked it as I had been before stealthing it to check it out as the big thing wasn't there going up or coming back down.

The other armour looks better granted it doesn't have the power. Funny how you're still not totally immune with the special armour as I went crazy with a Thunderjaw and it still took just over half my life with big swipes. Not that I'm disappointed with that, it just doesn't look that special on Aloy. Looks like her regular outfit from the beginning with the twinkly discs. This is supposed to look seriously bad ass.

It was fun at first taking on a Sawtooth pure raw face to face, knocking it down, it even jumped away from me the more I faced it on then blowing huge chunks off its face.

I think I'll be starting the last 3 remaining cauldrons tonight but not with the weaver armour. Need one last battle armour as I need a Shell Walker heart. How many shadow suits are there? A couple of side quests popped up on the map when I was walking back to All Mother before coming through the gate. Not done Redmaw either. Not sure where that quest is.

Not going to go any further with the last two missions until this is all done. Love how the game feels everlasting. Level 46 and 113 hours. This game is better than any movie. Let alone the soundtrack. :D
