How are people with 3000 series cards faring with PSU usage?

Only had a few hours with my 3090 but so far, so good with my Corsair 650w PSU. I've run quite a few games, synthetic tests and 30 mins of Furmark and no problems at all. It's still at stock and I have a 3700x which is just using PBO so I guess I'm being careful not to overload on the power.

I think if you have a good quality 650/750w PSU you should be fine, unless you go over the top with other components drawing a lot of power.

Promising results. Which PSU model if I may ask?
 
I've got a ryzen 5800x and gigabyte 3080 oc, had a corsair rm750 and it was doing fine, been playing control at max settings for like 2 hours a day, 2 hours of vr gaming as well and it was fine. One night I left it running to download some games, went to play control after it had been on 15 hours and it turned off on its own.

I then decided just to fork out for a RM850X and while waiting for it the pc didn't suffer any unexpected shut downs though so whether it was really necessary I don't know
 
Running an 10700k at 5ghz oc, and split gamerock 3090, on an 5yr old 850W psu.
Was gaming and benching the 3090 all night.. not a problem.. so far.
 
2700X/16GB RAM/Gigabyte Gaming 3080 on a Super Flower Leadex Gold 650w 1st gen. Seems fine so far, did have one hang which eventually rebooted the PC but no idea what that was. What's the best/easiest way to measure power draw? Ideally when gaming to get some load going.
 
I'm using an overclocked 6700k and 3080 with a Cougar gold 650w PSU. Using a watt meter at the mains I get 420 - 460w running around AC Valhalla. Undervolting to 0.825v cuts it by about 100w.

I've just taken current readings from the mains input to my system (GTX1070 + R5 3600)

Win10 Desktop 126w

Prime95 169w

Heaven Benchmark 259w

Furmark stress test 363w

These are the highest readings I saw after a few minutes of each test.

GTX1070 is rated at ~150w. The elusive RTX3080 is ~320w. If I assume the 3080 uses 200w more than my 1070, my highest power load would be around 560w. I think my 650w PSU would cope fairly well.
 
Interesting thread. I’m planning on a 5x00x, maybe even a 5950x along with a 3080, ideally a Gigabyte Vision. I picked up a superflower Leadex 650W Gold but also have a Seasonic 750W in my current PC so was going to swap them over. Maybe I won’t have to. It will also have 1 NVME, 1 SATA SSD, one mechanical hard drive, an Arctic freezer 2 240mm and six Lian Li Uni fans. No case RGB.
 
My 750W EVGA Supernova G2 (Super Flower OEM) seems up to the task of a 3080. Been testing it for a couple of hours and haven't had any issues in games or benchmarks, even with the power limit raised to 115%. That's paired with a 10600K overclocked to 5GHz at 1.35V.
