I used to game native then went to dlss qaulity for quite gameplay

But now I got a quieter card will go this route

> 100fps maxed? - native

< 100fps maxed? - FSRDLSS

If native at a high framerate doesn't work, I'll use any upscaling that gets me where I need to get to. DLSS tends to be the most effective one, so that is the one I turn to first.

Setup in my sig

It's so dependant on the game being played, most will be native as I'm playing a lot of older and indy games atm. For newer games with the options then DLAA > DLSS > Native. It's just use the given capabilities to achieve a certain FPS vs looks target.

Looks wise then DLAA always wins, followed closely by DLSS with Native and old tech AA being usually the worst. Pretty much never use FSR or XeSS so not sure how they perform

Native if at all possible, only use DLSS if I have no choice. This basically means Dying Light 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 with RT enabled which need DLSS for high framerates.
That said I've just built a new machine which should only ever need DLSS in Cyberpunk.

3080 at 4k or lower up to 165hz. Can only get away with native in older titles. I'm fine with DLSS on modern stuff.

7900xt, mostly everything I'm playing is native at either 1440p or 2160p (depending on if KB+M or controller), but I'd really like to have the option of FSR for ARK:SA.... getting 35-50fps 1440p native with mostly 'epic' settings....

Then again, that's not currently an issue because I can't currently connect to my (self hosted) server..... Either I'm doing something wrong or Snail/Nitrado have deliberately broken it somehow :(

Native all the way, which for me right now is 1440p.
Used to be able to hit 60+fps on my 980ti back in the day, but when that died and the old 970 couldn't handle 1440p, that was one of the reasons I stopped bothering to play PC games.

To me, upscaling is marketing nonsense from Nvidia/AMD to help sell their overpriced and underpowered modern GPUs.
Back in my day, a 1440p60 GPU was a straight-up no-nonsense 1440p60 GPU.

Next GPU I buy, I expect to be able to make good use out of a 4k high-refresh monitor, for a reasonable price. Or get good 1440p ultra raytracing performance for not breaking the bank. I guess neither is happening anytime soon.

Native - at 4k

GPU - 6800XT

CPU - 5700X

I run dual monitors with second an asus hi-refresh screen @1440 - but never actually use it for gaming as I much prefer the quality of a 4k screen for gaming.

Prefer native every time, but games such as Ratchet/The Witcher with RayTracing need upscaling DLSS. Can't stand it personally

Normally native at 3440 x 1440 (60 min, 100 usual, 100+ occasionally) + HDR

CPU: 7950X
GPU 7900 XTX (Nitro+)

However, I found that the hair models in BG3 looks wrong at native resolution, but looks proper when using FSR 2.2 at Ultra settings, so have used that in BG3 recently for better looking hair.
