How do you go to sleep with your partner?

At the moment we sleep in separate rooms with a child each. It's the best we've slept for two and a half years lol. The kids sleep through the night (mostly) this way too. With twins nearly three, I'll take the sleep however I can get it lol.

It's not effected our 'fun time' either :D .

What time on the PC etc? Winner.

Always found it a bit strange when people say they sleep separately but I guess kids, sleep patterns, health conditions, all different so makes sense.

No kids here, don’t go to bed at the same time every night, normally I’m an hour or two later as I only need 6-7 hrs. Both get up at 7. No disturbed sleep to note(normal weights, no snoring etc). Dog sleeps on a blanket at the bottom of the bed.

We've slept apart for 3-4 years now.

She has restless leg after our son was born, I snore sometimes (and she does too). We're just nicer people when we've had sleep.

It has killed the intimacy a bit, but meh.

We sleep together. We always have done.

My Mrs sleeps in a weird position.
She sometimes does an annoying thing of holding her breath and squeaking.

We've been together for about 20 years, I got a sleep divorce after about 3 years lol.
She snores like a Walrus, and I'm a light sleeper. The cat sleeps in the spare room with me :D

We go to bed at the same time, watch a episode of whatever show on a streaming service we are currently working through then she goes to sleep while I continue watching tv or reading until around midnight then I "try" to go to sleep as well. I say try because although she is only five feet tall while I am six feet two inches all I get is the edge of the bed and if I'm lucky, a tiny bit of the duvet plus one of the cat's is usually sleeping on top of the bed between my legs so I'm in the same position all night. If by some miracle I get to move and curl up I am woken up by the cat scratching the bedding for me to open my legs again so she can curl up in the back of my knee. One day last week I woke up and the brother of the cat that always sleeps on the bed was lying down between the wife and I with his back against me and his paws against the wife. He had only got between us and pushed us apart so he has loads of room!!

I had insomnia due to some medication I was on a couple of years ago, and then I hurt my back quite badly, so I think we slept in separate rooms for 1-2 years. Since our baby arrived a few weeks ago, we've slept in the same bed. We have seperate duvets and I don't want to be subjected to her theft, and that's working well.

She normally goes to bed first.

Nothing dirty but on Sunday there were 6 couples, 3 of us old and 3 of us young (parents and kids basically).

One of my daughters was on about her husbands sleeping habits and said he spent most nights in the other bedroom.
The other 4 couples then said they mostly sleep separately.
The other thing was that all 5 couples also went bed at a different time to their partners with 4 of them being the bloke going later one of them being the woman going later.

Me and my wife have always gone to bed at the same time ** for the last 45 years of marriage and always fall asleep in each others arms (aaaahhhh)

** Obviously I gig with my bands now and then so I might get in around 1am but as soon as I get in bed we cuddle.

I'm now wondering if we're actually weird.

So OCUK, do you go to bed at the same time and do you sleep in the same bed?

Yep. Always slept separately. It's just more convenient.

Go back a few hundred years and a bed was more of a community thing and about trust rather than sex. It was very common for men to sleep together, even if they could afford separate beds. It was a sign of trust.

and…

What do you wear in bed?

1) Nothing- in the noddy.
2) Underwear.
3) PJs/nightie or variants thereof.
4) Other - please specify.

We’re very much in the no.1 camp

1 - even in the middle of winter, I can't stand sleeping in clothes!

The other half however will happily go to bed in joggers and a t-shirt & hoodie... I have no idea how?!

Isn't this basically the definition of sleep apnea?

My wife and I go to bed at the same time most nights, in the same bed, and have done for over 20 years

Mostly go to bed at the same time, although sometimes one or other of us will come to bed at a different time. Then we're joined by one to four of the cats, but usually two. We get up at the same time unless my wife needs to go into work earlier than usual, which happens a couple of times a week. My wife sleeps like a log, whereas I have chronic insomnia.

And, @marinersfan, your wife really should get that looked at: if it's sleep apnea then that's really not healthy.

quite a lot of countries sleep separately.

Don't always go to bed at the same time. I'm normally in bed early as I get up earlish (6am). It just depends. 99% of the time in the same bed, though if she's ill or coughing she'll sleep in the other room.

Whaaaat!? Our pud just sits at the bottom of the bed, loving life!

Couldn't have our dog sleeping at the bottom of the bed - he spends hours at night grooming himself, and then he'll make his hound noises if he thinks we're ignoring him. We have to put up with him if we go on holiday in the UK and have an apartment as he won't sleep outside our room if we're on the same floor.

I dont have one.

When i did, then we used to just sleep normally.
