How long to run 2.5km

Damn, I can only do 1.3km in 10 minutes. After ~5 minutes I drop back to walking, before running the last few minutes. I am so unhealthy :(

I am trying to improve it though, want to do a 1 mile in 10 mins first, then speed it up :)

Sorry if this has been mentioned in the thread, haven't read it all, but you got the requirement wrong.

You need 2.4km in 10mins 30secs (for a male). It's preceded by an 800m warm-up jog in 5 minutes.

I don't know if it helps any but I can do 2k in 10 minutes (my standard warmup) pretty easily and I wouldn't have said I was particularly fit, that also includes 1 minute of walking to warm up and warm down. :)

Im a bit like that buit i think i could do that.

I cant run long distance for **** though, i can run like sticnk but much over 200metres and im knackerd :(

Know what you mean, i can do the 100m in high 10's (or at least i could last time i was timed properly and had a decent surface, shoes, and starting block), yet i cant even jog the 800m.

Something wrong with me :/

Nah, We just have Sprinters Muscles \o/

We have extra power and springy muscles. Thye just fatigue really quick due to needing so much energy to feed them and oxygen to burn

I only weigh 10 stone :(

10stone>9.something

I once ran at 15 kph for 2 minutes on a 15% incline on a tread mill

That was after running for 6 or 7 minutes at 7-10kph :)

Something worth noting is that this run will not be on a treadmill so times on there aren't really too useful a comparison.

The slower limit should be easily doable, and I suppose that, for anyone that has what it takes to be a Para, so is the second.

Army officer - 2.5km in 12 minutes
Paras - 2.5km in 8 minutes

Are you sure?

As I walk at roughly 4mph

So at my walking pace it would take me 20 mins to do 2.5km. So all they want is double your walking pace  seems a bit easy unless im confused!

The quoted times for the para test are incorrect and also the 1.5 mile is done without kit.

I'm currently training for entry into the army but im joining the RAC, Entry is very slack at under 12 minutes but im currently running it in 9:40.

Entry into the para's is currently 9:30 for the 1.5 mile run

woo hu, im in!

Nah, im not training for paras or RAF or anything. My mate is in the police and is trying for an army officer job or paras, but he said its so hard to get in paras.

He obviously got his info wrong
