How many DINKs here?

2 kids. Sometimes wish I was a DINK though. One is at Uni and another doing his GCSE's. Is it too late for an abortion? :)

DINK

Always been sure I don't want kids. Made dating a bit trickier. But noticing now so many more people don't want kids. I've always told partners early. No point wasting each others time.

Kids wouldn't suit my life style, would seriously squeeze finances and wipe out my time for hobbies and damage my mental health.

I feel for people priced out of kids, or those who want them but don't because of worries about the future. I'm just lucky to not want them!

We kind of fit into the category.

My wife has 3 kids, but the youngest is now 21, so in theory the financial burden is reduced. In reality not so much, but we're getting there!

Also, with DINK you can have a fairly stress free not too difficult job and still feel well off.

As the post above shows pictorially

If my partner changed her mind, we would break up. One of those things you can't compromise on

No but quite happy not to be a DINK. Do I wish I had more time and disposable income? Yes. Do I regret our decisions? Absolutely not - I think whilst I'm more tired and under pressure than I have ever been, I'm also the happiest I've ever been in my life. It's a funny trade off. Having had children I'd be miserable without them.

Need to get this done at some point. At 37 I shouldn't get much "are you sure". Just I've of those things never seen to get round to
I had mine at 42, should have done it earlier really. No resistance being referred by the GP, took my other half to the doctors when I asked and said I want the snip as we don’t want children and he just did the referral.

DINK here but coming up to mid-30’s so starting to think about kids, the mrs wants them over the next couple of years before we get any older.

Scares me, always been happier with a dog but I think I would regret it if I didn’t.

Edit: I also can’t stand kids but you love your own right?

I'll have to get it done. Certainly don't want any accidents!
Its weird. It's one of the few things(very few) I've been sure about since I was at school. Never once thought "is this the right choice"

Always wanted kids, got married, had two.

Money was tight for a few years (not as much support then) but we got through it with fairly well adjusted kids. Both flew the nest years ago & now live with their partners.

So now we're back to DINK status :)

First time I've heard of DINKs, as I've always known it as TWINKs (twin income no kids), but same idea :-)

My sister and her hubby are TWINKs. Both are teachers but not particularly well off. The hubby does private tutoring on Saturdays to get some extra hours pay in.
