How often do you turn off your PC?

switched off at the wall every time I stop using it. Vaguely confused why anyone wouldn't for general gaming use

Would usually shut it down when not in use but main computer is also operating as a server at the moment, so it stays on.

Power draw is fairly low as it's not doing anything of note though.

My main computer is either working (on), or it's in standby.

The only times it's shut down is if I'm on holiday. The other time is if there is a very bad thunderstorm we can occasionally have power outages / surges, I might switch off at the mains plug when these are happening. I really need to think about a UPS for these situations.

With the monitor off, my PC idles at 145W. (Monitor on - 184W.) That's not an inconsiderable amount hence why I turn mine off.

(5800x3D, 4090, 32GB RAM, 850W Platinum)

Yeah. That's £317.55 per year in electricity to keep on 24/7 @25pence per kwh.

My plex server idles at 25watts. £54.75 per year if on 24/7.

Rarely. I have too much open at once - work, play, kids YouTube videos - to want to shut it all down and have to start over every day. It gets rebooted for updates, but that's about it. It does sleep/hibernate overnight of course.

Also a Plex server, which if I didn't have on this machine, I'd need on another, while I'd still need this on most of the time, so...
