How quickly can you loose weight?

Yeh.

I just don't get all these people that want a greek body in a month. You only get what you want by working at it...

losing weight in specific areas requires some sort of mental strength and determination to do it...

Tbh if you dont want to work at it then your lazy...

There are probably a million ways to lose weight but there is nothing wrong with a good natural way of doing it.

Seems like a lot of people expect to lose a stone or 2 in the summer

To lose weight, and keep it off, you need to lose it slowly and gradually and without resorting to stupid fads and things that you CANNOT KEEP UP IN THE LONG RUN.

Breakfast is VITAL, it prevents your body from going into starvation mode after being unconscious for 7+ hours. It boosts your metabolism, which leads to more calories being burned which leads to you losing weight.

Exercise is VITAL, if you don't exercise regularly, even if it's just a brisk 20 min. walk once a day, you risk much MUCH worse things that being a fat *******.

Eating the right food is vital. Fresh fruit and veg, lay off the cooked meats (esp. red meat) drink more water and/or weakly diluted fruit juice (again fresh, not Robinsons).

2 stone in one month is WAY too much - you need to change your diet PERMANENTLY, not just TEMPORARILY, otherwise the weight will come back, and be harder to shift the next time.
It's not a change of diet that's needed, it's a change of lifestyle.

It's raining though, i have a huge tendency to fall of in the rain because i don't go slower round corners. Although I'm not running on slicks anymore, i was forced to change them when they went down to the canvas :(

I might go out after dinner if its dried up a bit :) I'll plan my route on goggle earth :D

Slow round corners? Slow down then. It's an excuse. Your mindset will fail you. It's this mindset that needs to change.

I have a very high energy gun dog, he's a Hungarian Vizsla. I walk him 3 times a day for an hour each time. We cover several miles in the woods when walking and if the rain is pouring I put a coat on.

If you want a serious reply form me,

I would personally start eating properly, 4 square meals a day with decent food, lots of ptrotein, nice and clean.

I would then start doing a full body 3 times a week, Muscle burns fat, and exercising burns fat.

Your weight loss will be slower but it will be more permanent and You will have the added benefit of getting stronger rather then just more tired.

i'll go out and see how long this route takes in about 10 minutes

Are raw meats ok? ;)

If it was easy or there was a shortcut everybody would look great, the truth however is somewhat different.

This is what a lot of people don't realise.
They don't want to do weights "because weights make you big" not realising that the extra muscle mass will be burning calories even while they sleep and actually helping them to lose fat.

as 200 people probably jsut said (im 2 lazy and fat to read the thread) if you stop eating you metab' will slow down you will burn less energy and it can also dammage you in other ways I dont remember now.. it will change your moods and all sorts of stuff

Also another excuse for not running is my flat feet, a doctor actually advised me not to run too much, as all the pressure will travel from my feet to my ankles and knees which would cause me problems in later life. Especially with my 200lbs crashing down on them.
Swimming could be good excercise because it doesn't put weight of body on to joints.

For that cycling reserve plenty of time and don't keep staring clock or any speed but just drive at speed you can comfortably maintain watching around you and if there's something slightly interesting just stop for short time to watch it.
Starting too hard doesn't help and I think everyone agrees that mental stressing isn't any healthier than some overweight.

2 lb a week is more what you should be looking at, not 2 stone a month! So aim for 2 st in about 4 months. And that's still pretty fast, but OK if you're doing it sensibly.

I've lost 2½ stone in a year, which equates to a fair bit less than 1 lb per week - BUT it's still enough for people who don't see me for a month or two at a time to say things like "Have you lost weight again?" or "Wow, you look well!" or "Careful, you'll disappear soon!" etc.

I have about another stone until my ideal target, but I'm in no hurry. The main thing is just get used to a better lifestyle.

Hmmmm....must be because I was cycling across London streets, that I did about 3.5 miles in 25 minutes, and I was cycling pretty fast.... was surprised at an estimate of 20-25 for your journey!

yer, the only time i had to slow was junctions that i couldn't easily see out of! The country roads were pretty scary lol and there was quite a few hills. I reckon i would be able to knock a few mins of that time if it wasn't so wet, i had to slow for a few corners otherwise i would have dies a horrible death :p
