TW, read my earlier post;)

Of course you don't find it dangerous becuase you are not the poor sap who suddenly finds a 405 3 feet from his front bumper. I loose count of the number of times people like you with no respect for the rules of the road cause me to have to brake or take evasive action.

So tempting to just not bother next time and let the foolish persons insurance company pay.

I said I dont intentionally do it but if it happens it happens. Its nothing to get into a big fuss about;)

Just seems that you don't have enough (if any) respect for other road users.

Not the first time you've projected such an image either.

Boy racers in Swansea, or elsewhere, are a menace and a danger. They kill, maim and frighten people of all ages all in the name of vanity and ego. I'm glad the police have listened to the public and decided and clamp down on the posers. Regardless of the time of day had I not moved sharply to one side when pushing the trolley my life could well have been in danger. There's no excuse for this sort of behaviour in a supermarket car park. There were a large number of cars parked there at the time.

so where should car enthusiasts gather in your opinion? Even legal cruises get reuined by the police. Theres no where for people to go, thats why they have to gather at a place such as a supermarket, large open space etc. Anyway, as with all things dont tarnish a whole group of people with the same brush, as normal there is a slim majority who do ruin it, but the good far outnumber the bad.

As for parking in a disabled bay at 6am, if there were a load of empty bays and no one was around I wouldn't hesitate to park there if i were just jumping out to grab something.

boy racers often spend lots of money on their car thou , so why rnt they allowed to parade it about on the streets?

i agree tht there r times and places to do this thou , but surely there r people out there commiting worse offences?

people see/hear me and probably consider me a boy racer.....doesnt mean im actually one though, because of the way my car looks/sounds should make people judge the way i drive (lol whats worse its a micra)....by no means im the best driver on the road, but ive seen worse.

...mainly women with small kids in the car
*runs like hell, puts on flameproof jacket*

I would not decribe the peole Beaky is talking about as "car enthusiasts". Real car enthusiasts would collect in places like an old airport (Swansea airport has loads of wide open tarmac'd areas that arent in use), but an extremely busy car park of a supermarket smack in the middle of a large city is certainly not the place! And certainly not to spin round there at high speed just to show off the loudness of theiur engine and sound system.
I know Lopez is a car enthusiast, but I also know he wouldn't do stuff like that. He's got (for the most part :p) enough sense to do it somewhere else, at organised events.

These boy racers are the ones who drive up and down the Kingsway (majro road through Swansea past all the clubs and 30 seconds form the car park Beaky mentioned) racing one another on a Saturday night. I know some people who hit 70 on there. Its 2 lanes in either direction but with students/clubbrs everywhere. Only takes 1 drunk person to step out into the road and WHAM!! I've driven down there to drop friends off on a SDaturday night and have enough trouble at 30mph.

Heh exactly! Where I live in Manchester has one of the highest car crime rates in the country. You often hear people screaming past and handbraking round the corner of our road, only to be followed a couple of minutes later by a cop car. Round the corner from us there's also a piece of road on which these joyriders like to leave their stolen cars to burn to the ground. Lovely! I'd much rather the police concentrated on getting the joy riders off the road.

Also, it's not just young drivers who cut people up! I've lost count of the amount of times that a pensioner has cut me up just because they're not looking. I was in the car with Leon at new year and we were going round a two-lane roundabout. A motor caravan just cut me straight up and pulled across in front of me! If I'd have been a metre closer OR had actually been going faster onto the duel carridgeway, he'd have pushed me into the barriers. They also have a tendency to pull out of junctions without looking... it's massively annoying and bloody dangerous. Granted, they aren't involved in many major accidents... but I'll bet they've seen plenty in their rear view mirror! ;) I really do think you should be forced to retake your driving test when you hit about 65-70.

I thought you did nowadays? New licenses are only valid till you are 70

As much as boy racers annoy me, as long as they can drive it doesnt bother me. As LK said, ignorant drivers are the worst, people who dont btoher looking before moving lanes. I nearly had 2 crashes within an hour last week due to people doing this.

Boy racers do my head in. Get a proper car and learn to drive it properly.

/me does enjoy the looks he gets from them as he leaves work in his VTI though :)

In my humble opinion, the police should spend far more time clamping down on the scumballs who STEAL other people's cars, rather than those who buy and cherish their own.

I agree, i was a friends house, when a few 'kids' knocked on, she went to the door, and they asked if she was comming out ...etc, when i went out to my car, they asked me if i wanted to come 'cruising', they had two robbed cars parked round the corner, and sped round the road in which my friend lives about 50mph, nearly hitting my car when ones back end swung out.

That's very true. As much as boy racers can be annoying, I can't think of the last time one caused me to take evasive action, yet I can think of at least 10 incidents in the last month when an older, supposedly better driver has cut me up or pulled out infront of me without looking.
