BooM BADDA BooM BOOM BOOM!

Prats mostly, fly up our highstreet at 50-60mph on friday nights when there are people all over. Even during the day, why they think I should want to hear their racket I don't know, funny thing is, a boy racer sees someone 16-25 and suddenly turns his crap music up to full volume. It's like saying "look at me, I'm a ****" :rolleyes:

I agree that they are, but in the grand scheme of things are they the most important thing that the traffic police should be giving their attention to?

As much as I don't like them, they police should spend more time catching proper criminals and not just exercising their power. All but one cop that I've been stopped by are on a real power trip.

Out of all the times I've been stopped, only once was it justified (was going a little too quickly down a completely clear motorway at 6am which puts my on the same level as rapists and murders obviously...........) Every other time my *crime* has been that I've been out driving late. Obviously I should be at home tucked up in bed at 1am rather than driving.

Every single car I've owned in the last 10 years has been broken into but were the police interested? Nope, they're much more interested in stopping people for being out driving past midnight :rolleyes:

it was on the radio today that the fastest ever caught speeder was jailed today for 5 months , he was caught doing 156.7 in he's bmw

2 months for speeding and 3 months for driving while disqualified , also banned for 4 years , btw he was a car dealer

I can count on one hand how many near accidents ive had as a result of boy racers but those as a result of middle aged businessmen, OAPs or school run mothers, there arent enough hands on earth.

Thats what gets me too. All the racer boys round Swansea like to have huge bass systesm in their car, "cos they are so hard" but play **** music through it. I woudln't in a million years drive down a major high street with "DJ Sammy - Heaven" on at 100Dba!! If they could play proper dance not pop-dance/euro-dance then at least they'd have a vague reason to turn up their speakers.

True, I've got an aluminium case, window, neon etc for my computer but its in my room. no one sees it unless they come in and happen to look at it and say "oh, thats nice", I never mention it.
People who give their car a paint, keep it clean, etc I've nothing against but when you go over the top completely with full body kits, suspension etc then go round driving slowly with music blasting just to show it off is something else.

That's just your opinion on music though, and everyone has their own taste in music, you can't expect people to drive round in their cars playing music you like surely?

well to me thats over the top, proberly the same way as you see a car from getting to A to B. A case is to put bits of your computer in to me, not put silly lights in it and cut holes into the side.

It's the fact they crank it up especially for my ears that bugs me. Oh and stare at me in a "trying to be provocative" manner whilst sitting on the floorpan of a Nova "sportscar-style" :rolleyes:

Funny too is that you hear this blaring engine and exhaust note, turn around and see a dumped Saxo travelling at 5mph. There's no logic in that at all. It says "Wow my car sounds mean whilst not getting anywhere fast".

I love to see the boyracers who have those 'HUGE' whale tail spoilers on, they dont even know what there for and if they do then the'll know that they create downforce to help cornering and to grip the road better, but dont these ***** know that you have to do 100+ if not even faster than that to create downforce and i'm sure your average nova does that. :rolleyes:

Can we draw a distinction between boy racers and car enthusiasts?

I'm a car enthusiastic, I have a bigger exhaust, alloys etc but I'm no "girl" racer.

We had a car meet in a supermarket carpark a couple of weeks ago and the coppers turned up. As soon as the words "car club" were mentioned they were happy and trundled off to leave us to socialise. Probably the only good experience I have had with the police.

True, that's a fair point, and I know exactly what you mean.

I don't see what the big deal is though with people driving round in their cars at night, there's much worse crimes going on which could do with a little more prevention from the police as opposed to clamping down on "boy racers" They still pay road tax, so why not be on the road? :confused:

If you can hear their music, they obviously haven't botherered to use sound deadening.... in which case the bass sounds a bit crappy tbh, and the whole car rattles.

Alpha, i didnt mean to cause offence with the above.

If they are causing a nuisance then yeah get on their back. I can understand MYB getting stressed, I would if anybody regardless of what they were driving nearly run down my partner through sheer stupid driving in a busy area/carpark.

Why do poeple even waste time thinking about things other poeple do that they dont like.

I dont like something on TV......turn it over.

I dont like that boy racer/riced up car.....dont look at it.

By all means give your opinion........but do you have to slate someone for something that they like.

I dont particullarly like heavy metal music but I dont go around looking for poeple to upset because of thier likes/dislikes

Life is too short.

As much as boy racers annoy me, as long as they can drive it doesnt bother me. As LK said, ignorant drivers are the worst, people who dont btoher looking before moving lanes. I nearly had 2 crashes within an hour last week due to people doing this.

My grandad's over 70 and he's still driving. I think he just had to have an eyetest or something. He didn't have to take any form of driving test. In fact he says he's never actually taken a driving test in his life :confused:

He was driving lorries at 15. His driving still blows though.
