*** How to obtain a bike license ***

Long. It took ages for it to update, I was genuinely concerned at one point. It'll update though. Check every day :D

Ah that's cool, thought as much. My local ducati dealer are fine with me doing test rides, but they need to either see my licence or check my licence online... :(

Hurry up DVLA!! :p:D

You probably clicked at the theoretical 6 points, then a second later when you click to make sure you probably only got 2 or 3 whereas you should have got the full 5 really. I hope that makes sense. Well done nonetheless.

Passed, yippee!

Got 48 on the theory and 59 on the hazard perception. Thought I'd smashed the hazard perception, but obviously not!

Thanks a lot for the DVD, without that I wouldn't have passed!

Well done!

It's difficult to get 100% on the hazard perception because their timing windows are weird. I often seemed to press too early for example.

You're very welcome mate, it's what us bikers do :)

Nice! End date May 2051 :D.

My Mod 1 is booked in for Tuesday 11th, with 1.5 days training 10th / 11th and Mod 2 7 days after Mod 1...I can't flipping wait!!

I saw a YouTube video saying don't tell anyone cause it adds to the pressure...really?! It's just a bike test! :p

Just so you're aware tall Paul, licenses expire when you turn 70 so you've inadvertently given us your dob, not sure if you mind or not lol.

I was refreshing that online page almost every hour while I was waiting. Still couldn't believe is passed until it was official on the database :p. Two weeks on the dot just like yours!

Mod 1 passed! :D:D:D

1 minor fault: I only reached 45kph on my first hazard avoidance run. Not sure what happened as my emergency stop was 50kph and my second run on the hazard avoidance was 50kph. Could have been more assertive there (got told off for going too fast on the practice) - must have been nerves, but anyway, passed and just got to arrange a Mod 2 date.

A bloke failed while I was there (I was watching him, which he probably didn't appreciate!) as he skidded his back wheel. 40 y.o. ex-copper and his 4th attempt, he was an absolute bundle of nerves....

Can't wait to ditch the L-plates and go shopping for a proper bike.

Congrats!

4th attempt? Shocking! The school should just have him doing the test over and over from start to finish for an entire day. Although I suppose he is fine and gets 100% when he's not under test conditions. Nerves can really affect some people badly.

Yeah nerves can be pretty bad - sitting on the MOD1 just about to pull away for the slalom and figure of 8, I thought my heart was going to come through my chest :D Some people ride like a completely different person when under test conditions.

On my mod 1 I started the engine and engaged first gear with the side stand down, just before I set off for the controlled stop = stall. I never do that. Wasn't sure if it was a fault, but apparently not!

Mod 2 booked for first thing next Wednesday.

God there are a lot of hoops to jump through to get a motorbike licence. CBT, theory questions, theory hazard avoidance, off-road manoeuvres, on-road practical. It's a wonder anyone bothers :D.

It'll all seem worth it when I'm riding out to the Shropshire hills next spring I suppose!

Aye, and you've done all the hard bits now :)

Mod 2 passed today :D :D. Got one rider fault for (alleged) speeding.

Poor chap I was with had his test before mine cancelled, as the instructor was late in as his bike got stolen .

Anyway, L-plates are already off and it's time to go bike shopping!

The 2014 CB650F I did my test on was rather nice I must say. But I think I'm looking to try a v-twin first.
