I think I'd rather go for the A2 and then suck up the test costs to get unrestricted 2 years later. Don't want to be stuck with L plates and the inside lane for 4 years, as my daily commute involves 2 dual carriageways and various NSL roads
just had my new style licence sent to me in the post.
on checking the categories, i have dates in motorcycle A category. had a read at the dvla site but its talking about kilowatts and power to weight ratios.
can someone give me laymen terms on what it means.

A1 and A2 licenses are restricted. Chances are you license says you are able to 'drive' bikes under the restricted limit and you are able to 'drive' bikes above the restricted limit.
It's a really bonkers and confusing way of saying you're able to ride whatever you want lol.
It should say you are provisionally allowed to ride any bike of any size and power without L plates and allowed passengers, this will be the case if you check online.
