*** How to obtain a bike license ***

If I could show you the junction you would know what I mean.

I feel a bit of a pleb to be honest. It is an error you expect someone who has only just started out...

I guess, before that happened, everything went well. Pulling out from behind a car, city riding, road works/obstructions etc...

It was like a 1-2 O-clock junction, hardly a right hander.
Such a pleb!

Edit: Thanks for the support. Just really wanted to get it over and done with really. At least I know I can do it at least. Just need to pay more attention to what the road looks like at junctions in particular. :(

Unlucky :(

Next time, don't worry about going the wrong way, just do it safely and you shouldn't even get a minor for it.

I got a minor for going the wrong way as the instructor believed I did it because I was in the wrong lane, and didn't get into the right lane appropriately.

What you need is to be more lucky. I was failed for doing 50 in a 30mph roadworks section of the A46, only I told him the signs said 50 not 30 so he let it slide. I was in the right, but I still class that as lucky as it's not often these bureaucrats back down, even if they are bikers and therefore awesome!

Nerves I'd say, just try to relax more if you can, you'll do it

Paint a white L & R on the top of your gloves next time haha

I failed my first within 2 minutes of leaving the test center, hasty lane change and didn't leave enough room between me and the car I pulled in front of.
Same as you daft mistake, but at least it's not a major issue i.e you can't do something, just the nerves.

You'll be fine the 2nd time round.

Cheers, I'm booking my Mod1 and Mod2 now. :D

Edit

"Theory test pass number"

Maybe not yet... :(

If you do it through an instructor they can put you down for one of their prebooked spots without a theory pass.

You should already have your theory by now, leaving it late doesn't give you anytime to re take it if you fail and you're close to starting your DAS.

I thought you had done your theory test, or was that for a car test?

I had 42 points and something like 68-69 Hazard perceptions points. I was really ill and had a high fever, the doctor said not to get out of the house due to my bad throat infection which was the cause of the fevers. I went for the test anyways, I didn't revise and that was my mistake. I did 1 day and 30 min next day revision for my car which was nearly a year ago. :p

26th is next test...

Failed.
I was on 4 minors, in the last 5 mins the examinar asked me to turn right, was in the right position, and I couldn't see the right turn as it was quite hard to see. Tram lines only directly in front, and in panic I turned left...

I noticed where I needed to go as I did it, and failed due to it.

Gutted. If it wasn't for that I would have passed with 4 minors.
My next one is on the 9th of March, with a full day on the 8th beforehand.

I'm mad because it was such a trivial and stupid mistake. I now know that I can pass, and what to expect. But am really mad at myself for doing something so damn stupid. We went through Nottingham city centre as well, and have never been there, nor seen so many cars in my life, and didn't fail on the massive roundabouts there.

Just in a 20 degree junction, aside a tram only lane. :(

Unlucky. Where about was it? How'd the retest go? I'm guessing the Colwick test centre?

I did mine a couple of weeks back. Stalled it outside the test centre then went out West Bridgeford way and did not put any more feet wrong. Might have helped that I got stuck behind learner drivers a couple of times and there was enough traffic to keep my speed down as well, so it was a fairly gentle ride. Bit of rain to distract me but otherwise quite a nice ride out. Got my license back now and everything so it's all official like. :D

Got me an NC750 as my first big bike. Probably not the most exciting but its really nice to ride.
