*** How to obtain a bike license ***

Those look like positive changes. A lot of 'bike hate' from people arises from seeing the clueless L plate brigade assault the streets. Theory test is a pretty sensible idea. Make Car learners do the theory before stepping foot in a car too though!

I would prefer to see wholesale changes to all classes of motoring. There is still too much emphasis on passing a test and then that's it. IMO there should be compulsory refresher testing.

Just as an update, I went down the route of getting my A2 instead of going around on a 125. Glad I did as my mod 1 is next week (hoping the weather holds up) and I'm feeling very confident about it, absolutely nailed every stage today in my lesson.

Looking into bikes again so think I'm gonna just do my license this summer regardless if i get a bike. A local place to me charges 99 for the CBT and 595 to do a DAS to A2 (I'm only 20) Those prices seem fair to you guys?

Cheaper than what I did for a 3 day full DA at £750 I think it was.

I would suggest getting the theory out of the way first. At £20 and lasts for 2 years it seems silly to leave it close to the tests in case you fail it.

Also if you can do it before the weather gets better you will find getting a spot easier

I'll donthe CBT and theory some time before as they both last two years. I'm in no rush TBH. I'm borline tempted to just ride a 125 but the idea of getting a duke 2 and restricting it sounds so appealing.

Flying colours! Guy I was paired with in the road section of the course was not roadworthy though, stopped in the middle of a roundabout and I had to swerve to avoid him. Gave me the fright of my life. Somehow he still passed, bit questionable really... :/

Glad to hear you passed! Tbh, you'd have to do something pretty terrible to fail your CBT.

When I did mine there were 2 16 YOs who were taking it so they could ride scooters. I found it crazy to think that after half a day, these 2 will be let out on their own, on under-powered scooters and no road sense.

Guy ended up in an ambulance on mine before we'd even left the car park, thankfully they didn't give him a certificate.

Cheers mate. Already getting a shortlist of bikes to visit and check out. Really keen to get going and refine my gear changes and braking etc.
