At this point I'd rather the Queen ran the country than the people we currently have, I feel like she cares more about the country and it's people than our elected politicians.

I'm no republican but having no real power means she has no need to make the tough decisions and so can play the benevolent, caring monarch.

At the end of the day she signs off and endorses Government policy in the Queen's Speech which has included controversial policies like the 'Bedroom Tax' and the continued use of a target-focused private company (ATOS) to get the number of people eligible for disability allowances down.

Surely the house of lords would make mose sense than the monarchh then

I agree, why can't we have both. And while we are at it have full proportional representation with MPs' voting power is exactly the same as the number of people that voted for them, so if 76,456 people voted for party x and party x got one MP then that MP would have 76,456 votes himself, a proxy democracy in it's purest form. But until we get rid of the monarchy this is not going to happen.

No if it's the Queen, yes for chaz and unsure about William, I'm quite fond of the queen and haven't liked any presidents of France or the usa but don't like Charles.

You want to think that through again?

Say it's election time theres 5 candidates running for my local seat...how can pr pick one?

Or are you saying you would do away with areas picking thier MPs by the lerson and instead youd vote sinply for a party who would then blindly and undemocratically asign mps to regions, despite say that region having voted for another party?

I think the priblem.is you think you vote for a party not a person.

Maintain!

The Royal family are good for this country with the income they generate, their diplomatic skills and also they're a morale booster for the country.

Just look at the number of people who were involved in celebrating the Queens 90th birthday not just in London, but around the UK.

They don't generate wealth through tourism. That report has already shown itself to be a sham. Diplomatic skills? Its not hard having a conversation (granted it may not be with Phillip around).

Morale booster? *JackieChanLaugh.jpg* the same queen who had a plane ready fly her to Canada during WW2?

I know a lot were involved but if they knew her history better than the press constantly spouts. Education even dips in to the brainwashing of making little royal sycophants out of kids. Queen Victoria was a great woman she did this, that, the other. She was hated.

Charles when he gets in will be bad news. Insider trading and all.
