SSD would work, as I was gonna shove one in myself. Trouble is, the Mini311 interface is only SATA1 and FSB is rather low, so I dunno an SSD would make that much of a difference?
I have a spare OCZ Vertex Turbo 60Gb lying around, I may just try it one day
Hi guys, this is gonna sound really stupid but got my ram upgrade through a couple of days ago although i have had my 311 for a week now. I used the 311 with 1gb on windows 7 for a few days and it was fast.
Put the 3gb in and i swear it feels slower! Straight away it felt more sluggish. How can that happen lol.
Some of you will have put your ram upgrades in straight away so will not notice any difference. But anyone else use it at 1gb first?
OK so the results are as follows:
The ram built into the 311c is rated 11-15-15-63-63-2T (According to CPU-Z)
The ram upgrade module I bought from OcUK was Kingston branded and rated 7-7-7-??-??-?T
The Everest memory benches are:
-- Stock ram --
Read: 4100MB/s
Write: 2818MB/s
Latency: 104.6ns
-- Kingston RAM installed --
Read: 2270MB/s
Write: 2377MB/s
Latency: 138ns
So it seems with 3GB ram this thing does slow down - I guess it's to do with the ram modules not running in sync at the same speed and having to slow down due to having odd sizes?
The memory read figure is most concerning, we're seeing a drop by pretty much half just by adding the extra ram module!
Does anyone have a spare 1GB module they're willing to lend me to test with?
