HP Microserver+XPEnology

Hi,

Does anybody use AVPlayer on their iOS device along with this NAS setup?

Streaming videos from my old Freenas Shuttle worked fine but from the new NAS I am getting audio drops every 10-15mins and sometimes video freezing.

Have tried 2 iPads so unlikely those.

Marvellous.... just ran through it now, worked a treat. Actually cleaner than previous couple of updates (dismounted drives etc).

Tried to update the usual way and it said 'fail to update the file. The file is probably corrupt.'

This was with update 7. It just refreshed and nothing changed.

Not sure what to do now?

Not really tried video station tbh as I use plex, much changed?

It's harder to find things now. It's trying to be a bit like plex. I do use the DS station app on my phone
to send the film to my tv, which is on the network.

Quick question - do drives have to be wiped when they are added? I have 2 x 3TB and a 1TB currently that I'll want to use in mine and I'm going to get another 3TB drive, will I have to do some kind of juggling act? Move data from the drive I want to add before adding it and so on for the others as I add them?

You will have to juggle afaik as i did it that way.Even if its possible to plug and play so too speak i would still do a backup before trying.

Ok guys.. Got a crashed drive with 300 gig of data on it. The data isn't valuable, but I would like to try and save it. Is there any way of recovering it ?

Thanks

There is a how to on the synology site. You will need a version of Linux\Ubuntu via a another HD or USB stick.

Is it just one HD?

Yup just drive, not raid as there is nothing of major importance on it, just a few TV series seasons which I will find hard to get again.

Will check out the site.

Thanks

Anyone attempted 4528 update? Can't do it the usual way using the script unfortunately, I've downloaded a new nanoboot and am just backing up some stuff before I try :)

I did a clean install of nanoboot and 4528 pat file , but this was on a home made server, everything working good here. Go over to xpenology.nl plenty of stuff there. I used the no USB/exsi on single hard drive method by cyan labs , but that one wasn't update able.

I've read you need to change in the Menu_instal.lst file to

upgrade=5.0-4528

Then reboot , then manual install the 4528.pat file

Then it should update.

Just wish there was a app to monitor cpu temps
