HP ML110 G7 32GB RAM - Cashback

You may want to check with suppliers as the offer is until July 2012 (or until stock exhausted). There are still stocks where I am :D, well there were last Friday.

I imagine you may still be able to get some in the UK as well unless it is only through HP, in which case they may have locked it down.

Cashback is claimed by submitting a form to a 3rd party processor.

Orders must be invoiced between 28th May and 31st July 2012.

The closing date for receipt of claim forms is 31st August 2012. No claims will be accepted after this date.

So you'd have to find somebody who can "adjust" the invoice date...

Ive got the G840 model too and had the same problem. Maybe it is down to the processor that allows the extra 16gb for 32gb so i suggest you return your 8gb sticks for 4gb ones.

I crapped myself when i first heard that beeping noise :(

ahhh I think i see the stupid mistake i made
the memory i got was
KTH-PL313/8G
I have noticed there is a KTH-PL313E/8G
I wonder if this is the difference between buffered and unbuffered

Yep. KTH-PL313/8G is listed as a registered (buffered) part and KTH-PL313E/8G is listed as unbuffered.

Hello All. New here and hoping someone can help.

I have a ML110 G7 currently with 16Gb (two sticks of the KTH-PL313E/8G which I will take up to 32Gb at some point) however I'm concerned with the fact that ESXi doesn't see the embedded RAID properly - fine not a problem. I've got a SA P400 with battery cache but the server won't see the card. I've tried it in both PCI slots. The card itself is powered since it's own lights are one and the battery is charging etc. I also have an LSI card whcih the machine also will not see.

I reset the BIOS settings in case I'd changed something but no luck. The machine has the latest firmware but I have no idea if the P400 has the latest firmware since it won't load the option ROM.

Does anyone know if these cards will work? There doesn't seem to be any concensous on Google about it.

I'd rather not have to pay out for a P212 but if I have too I will.

I'd apprecite any ideas and if this should be in a different forum please move it accordingly.

Thanks, David.

Ok Found the solution. For anyone else in the same\similar situation, go into the BIOS and select Power Management Options then Advanced Power Management Options then PCI Express Generation 2.0 Support.

Change this setting to Force PCI-E Generation 1. ESC out and F10 to reboot.

Card comes alive and posts correctly.

Hi everyone. A couple of questions for you all if you don't mind. :)

I'm about to buy two KTH-PL313E/8G to give me 16GB on my ML110 G7 initially. Is this the right RAM to buy? Will it work OK? If it does I'll make the order and double it to 32GB later on.

Can anyone tell me what specific link they are using on HP's site to find the firmware update? I can't load up the ML110 G7's product page on HP's UK site. All I can find is the following link but it doesn't list the G840 processor so I'm not 100% sure if its the right page to be getting drivers and firmware from: supposed ML110 G7 driver page

this is the link you want, I found it easier to use option two and create a usb boot drve.

Regarding the memory you are correct KTH-PL313E/8G is the right part. Just be careful as when I searched for it ****** and various other retails linked to it only to find the part was KTH-PL313/8G i.e registered not buffered! Can I ask where you are sourcing from and how much?

Cheers for the reply ramtec. :) I googled the "KTH-PL313E/8G" last night and found the Kingston site coming up near the top of the results. You can buy the RAM through them, or a partner, should I say. I saw some posts earlier in this thread where some one or some people had bought the KTH-PL313/8G. They missed out the 'E' after the PL313 and found the RAM didn't work. I just wanted to check this out for myself. I'll probably order the RAM tonight. :)

Thanks again!

Just looked back through our purchases DB and I've previously sourced the 4GB DIMMs (KTH-PL313E/4G) to go in a ML110 G7 Xeon E3. Not had one with a Pentium G CPU though, so can't comment on that.
